    Reliabilty opinion please

One problem with Mazda esp the CX-9 is that the sales volume is not very high (compared to lets say a Camry or Accord or Focus), so sometimes it is difficult to find "common" problems. Makes troubleshooting a bit more difficult.

    CX9 Brake Booster Replacement

On the repair manual I have it says, remove wiper arm & blade, cowl grill, wiper motor, cowl panel, but no mention of removing the windshield. If you google you should find the repair manual PDF online for free, it is for 2008, but as we know the CX-9 has been the same since birth :)

    CX9 thru aluminum garage door

I can't believe you would not have scratches, but you can try washing and waxing the paint off and see what you have underneath. Some pictures might help us see what it looks like.

new 2016 Honda Pilot looks like an 8 year old Highlander (photo)

To me, the new redesigns all look like each other. One has the lights protruding a bit, one has a bit more curve; nothing to get me excited here.

    Steering issue

They could be related. I would get an opinion from an independent shop, ideally one referred by friends. I am not sure why at that mileage you are still going to the dealer, but then I know Mazda parts are not common, so maybe that is the reasoning.

    New owner observations/questions on heating/cooling

Mine warms up pretty fast. It helps to live in Southern CA when it is 70+ degrees outside today. Had to turn the AC on this morning :) Had to rub it in.

    Water pump!!!!

How many miles on the car? What is the repair estimate. The Waterpump on these cars scare me. I think it is a very poor design to need to get the engine and transmission out to change a waterpump. They are maintenance items and should be easy to service.

    2010 CX-9 Liftgate Panel Removal

When I was installing my rearview camera, this is what the manual called for; Remove the top piece, then side panels and then the big bottom one. You have to take the handle piece out of the bottom trim too. If this is not clear, let me know and I will dig back in the FSM.

    HELP - 2011 cx-9 is Dead

Most cars have a fusible link that would blow and try to protect the ECU, not sure if our Mazda has one. Might want to google it.

Is there any way to check ATF at home? Can't locate dipstick.

I believe starting in 2011 they did away with the dipstick, mine is a 2010 and as mentioned above, the dipstick is kind of hidden on the side of the battery and behind the engine.

    2008 CX-9 Blutooth failue?

Reboot your phone. Have you tried deleting the phone and re-installing. There is a toll free number in the owner's manual and if you call them they provide free over the phone help.

    After Market Nav install questions

I put the GPS antenna under the mesh right on top of the dash. That piece comes out (the part that has the AC controls) anyway. I just taped the antenna under it and fed the wire down to the unit. Reception seems to be decent and it is out of view. The mic and rearview camera was a bit more...

    After Market Nav install questions

Given the overwhelming response and also my great speed on finally doing this project, I am going to provide a timely update!! I finally took the plunge and bought a Jensen unit from crutchfield. Went through them mostly because everybody raves about their tech support. I also bought the PAC-RP...

2014 Cx-9 OEM navigation installation and door lock

Okay, I tried and if the door (in this case driver's), is open, I can lock with the fob and it doesn't unlock. I can lock the doors manually with the door switch when I open it to get out, and it doesn't unlock. I remember when I bought the car, I found the programming for the door locks on the...

2014 Cx-9 OEM navigation installation and door lock

Mine is a 2010, not sure about the door locks, have to check-I rarely use the remote. As far as your nav, so you haven't bought the unit yet? It seems like on page 4 you have to disconnect the connector from the bluetooth and insert it in the GPS connector (which seems it should just be there)...

2007~2015 How to get to the CX-9 spark plugs?

Most likely they screwed something up :) Probably loose spark plug connections. Hopefully not a broken spark plug that they just ignored hoping you won't notice. I would go back ASAP since they would try to blame it on something else. And try to find yourself a decent mechanic, usually the...

    2014 Mazda CX-9 vs 2014 Honda Pilot

We looked at the Pilot and Highlander (previous generation) when we bought. The Pilot dash felt like a wall in front of the driver and the hood/headlight was very much like a truck and the car is not a truck. Had a CRV before and knew to expect a noisy ride from the Pilot. They had noise...
