Yeah inodes, that has been my experience also. Although Bluetooth is so convenient, I still prefer the sound quality of a wired connection though.

iPhone 5 gets a USB error :( Are others having the same issue? Would a Mazda firmware update be able to solve this? Bluetooth audio/controls/metadata still work though.

The noise I was referring to is definitely coming from the steering column. I asked my dealer today at my initial service and they confirmed that it was the wheel lock engaging.

Brightness adjustment can be done by twisting the trip computer reset toggle thingy. Also, if this it set to full brightness your screen will ignore the auto day/night feature.

Make sure it's running or it's in accessory mode (hit the start button twice with your foot off the brake pedal)

We only get a two button remote (no panic button)

This noise is not audible outside - its a very short sound that lasts a second, right when you open the drivers door, after you have pressed the stop/start button.

It's definitely not a cooling down sound, but may be the electric steering. nizzy1115, you don't get the sound?

When I turn off the car and open the drivers door, I get this winding sound seemingly coming from behind the instrument cluster. What is it?
