Why is it that you cant wash your car??? Anyway I was just looking around and found this site: http://www.progressive.com/RC/Seasonal/rc_windshield_clean.asp It might help... I found the Bacon Grease angle to be a little strange but hey whatever works...

What I like to use is simple green about 5 min before you wash the car soak the bugs with simple green. Works really well for cleaning rims too.
