For a paint job like mine you could easily pay upwards of $500 (5.5hrs of labour - at whatever price your guy charges)... that's why I DIYed with my buddy.

Yah, we sanded down the whole hood, and then taped off all the flames. We went through about five designs before we decided that the tribal look was the best. Then we painted the whole hood.. dried it... then added the air brushing... then we pealed the tape off and put the clear coat. Next...

Nice DelSol, I'm not a fan of regular flames, or extensive air-brushing... I figure its overplayed... but I figured CF flames were unique, that's why I agreed to doing then.... never seen CF flames before, and its always fun to push the envelope on things (like my sub enclosure)

Yah, I wasn't too sure about doing flames either... that's why I kept it above the RC line, so I could paint it again without flames. But we had the afternoon/night to kill so we went all out with the flames and air brushing... overall, it took 5.5 hrs (Canadian hours that is)

Thanks guys... I still have to get the edges of the flames sanded down and get a few more layers of clear coat on there... should be doing that in the next week. I don't have any further away pics, but I'll get some up tomorrow for you guys.

Went down to a buddy's paint shop and got my RC CF hood painted with CF flames. Let me know what you guys think.

Has anybody heard from Juan from HiBoost lately? I can't get a hold of him on his cell and he's not returning my e-mails.... I've been waiting for him to get my BOV cleared from customs cause they forgot to include a customs invoice. Its been there for over a week, plus the part was shipped...
