What was your actual homework? There's a easy way to tell - just go into the infotainement screens and look for the CD representation. Shows how many cylinders are working.

My 2016 was not really a high trim (Touring) , it was one above the base. I thought this feature was available across all trims.

My 2016 and 2019 also does it automatically.

My wife did that too. She had just pulled into work, starting talking to a co-worker and left the car running. Luckily she's only part time so it idled for about 4 hours before it ran out of gas. Bad thing is the accessories stayed on and ran the battery down.

If you have a computer it's easy to download the CD's to a thumb drive. I have 80 of my favorite CD's on one thumb drive with gigabytes of storage still left. It's so easy to just bring up the directory, select a cd and listen or select certain tracks.

Just picked up a 2025 CX-5 (didn't want the 2026) and I think the performance is as good or better than my 2016 Touring. It's no turbo but it's pretty impressive. The secret is not to baby it.

If your Mazda5 has a USB port just copy the CD's to a thumb drive and be done with the CD player.

Get a California duster. Makes short work of dust and pollen.

I mixed my own water spot remover since our water is filled with limestone. Spray it once the car is washed and dried. Removes all the water spots. Way cheaper than the store bought stuff.

From what I read you can't go backwards or forwards. Sounds like we're stuck with the giant fob. And don't drop it. From what I've read on other sites the thing will explode if you drop it and pieces will scatter everywhere. Probably an exaggeration but I'm not going to test it.
