that plug is for the sensor that would be in the washer fluid bottle if that was an option in the mazdaspeed trim. It was cheaper/easier for mazda to make one harness for all proteges so that plug sits dormant. You might have had that option in Canada if you have a warning light for low washer...
In a factory setup the Maf is placed in front of the turbo right before the air filter, but it will also work in the intercooler pipes before the throttle body. The BOV just needs any vacuum source after the throttle body to work, the wastgate could be used the same way, but the better way for...
Soak all the bolts with pb blaster 24 hours in advance. Most people have a problem with the manifold bolts breaking on the turbo manifold. It is less of a problem coming from N/A because the manifold and bolts see much less heat.
If you have a stock mazdaspeed setup and mazdaspeed ecu, tuning is not necessary. It would help alot as the stock setup runs very rich but it's not necessary. As far as install time, it can vary depending on experience and knowledge. Anywhere from 6 hours or more depending on how complete your...
16-19psi is a lot for stock coils, I know in the Miata world people experience spark blowout above 15psi and i know Miata ignition coils are stronger than the valve cover coils on the protege.
If you are on the stock ignition system, you need to upgrade. Stock coils are not strong enough. You could try closing the gap on your plugs to see it makes a difference.
nah, not worth the money for a ball bearing turbo, i think i got the t25 journal bearing turbo for $125.00. Car is mostly stock and my daily. I have a miata with a td05 16g turbo as my fun car. It's nice to see some protege's starting to run megasquirt though, I've been temped to try it on mine...
I saw the pictures and it appears they are all on P5's. The bigger sway bar plus the slightly different subframe on the MSP's probably causes it to rub. I like the Idea of these brackets though. I'm going to have to make something like them for mine.
Also, 1st generation Mazda6 brakes are a...
I have an Sr20 t25 in mine. Hardly noticeable difference in spool. The slightly slower spool is probably safer for a stock motor as stock connecting rods don't like boost in the lower RPM Range, and neither does the stock tune.
yes, they are the same. There is a minor difference with 1 Bolt that bolts the engine to the transmission, but it is not a big issue and can be left out.
HMMM..... This way looks like a better fit: http://s431.photobucket.com/user/amtmazdaspeed/media/BA4D2C7C-E0F7-49C0-B7AF-42D62B3F1569_zpsbxktfjqc.jpg.html
Also, I thought Mazdaspeed's had a slightly different rear subframe?
