What to consider replacing "while in there" for a clutch job?

This should be a common question regardless of the car but I bet if you google Mazda 3, you'll find specific answers. Btw, do you know what "kit" you are aiming for? This will determine what it comes with.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Did you use parking light (turns on dashboard) as the trigger wire? If you use a 12v ignition power source to trigger the relay it would not light up the dash -you still have fog light toggle as master switch. I agree the +12 gen has large black covering with anemic sized fog light that looks...

Tallest tires you can run on a 2012 Mazda5?

Don't know about tire height limit but these options can achieve what you are looking for. https://www.spaccer.com/en_US/ stock springs are progressive so you lose spring travel (height). These spacers are easy to install and make up for the lost height at the expense of trading-off the...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Nice mod but why not simplify and use 1 relay to trigger the parking lights or log lights? Personally, I find DRLs annoying/useless. Stay alert and drive safe. https://shoppress.dormanproducts.com/daytime-running-lights-a-bad-idea/

    Mazda5 Battery suggestions?

The Interstate (4yr, 6mo old) only has 36 mo. exchange :( The previous Kirkland (JCI) was so much better. Put in a new 34 (b/c I was stoopid and this time it died on me while driving). Still can't beat Costco prices.

2nd Gen Mazda5 AsBuilt data questions

Thanks for posting. I am aware of the retrofit kit, was hoping there might be a software option that may also enable it. Another one came to mind (don't need to research it but appreciate it if you do). Are there any settings for 1 or 2 touch power window control for different windows?

    Mushy brake pedal (2006 Mazda5)

All roads lead to @Maikel :D. FORScan can calibrate and bleed ABS valves/solenoids (individually!). https://mazdas247.com/forum/t/spongy-brakes-bleeding-doesnt-work.123876410/#post-6771374 ^post is a redirect b/c it touches on FORScan.

2nd Gen Mazda5 AsBuilt data questions

Thanks, this is great! This post will be immensely helpful to those with ABS issues (soft/spongey initial pedal feel), and I put refence back to this post. I suspect the menu option should be the same for both gens but someone else will have to confirm. A few more fun things to change...

    Spongy brakes, bleeding doesn't work (2013 Mazda5)

BIG Thanks to @Maikel , seems FORScan can indeed calibrate and bleed ABS valves/solenoids (individually!). Can't confirm the menu options are the same for both gens but I suspect it should be. This also confirms Autel is not up to date with their software and the avg owner would need to take...

2nd Gen Mazda5 AsBuilt data questions

I think you are the only person (on this form) who's actually used FORScan on Mazda 5/Premacy. I can't help much but like to ask if you can find settings/commands for these: -run command to cycle ABS pump -turn on low windshield washer fluid indicator light -get actual transmission fluid temp...

    IamFODI's 2012 Mazda5 6MT: Intro, plans, questions and build

Nice find. I like that the terminals are not reversed, like the 34 Interstate I'm using. Not sure how I missed 48 but I wonder if Costco didn't have them on the self at the time. (update: 34 @$100 vs 48 AGM @$180; 34 also has higher CCA, RC, smaller/lighter) Let's not gloss over top shelf stuff.

Battery size 24F fits fine (Mazda5)!

Another option that fits, Group 34 (med-big battery so tight fit and need slight mod to bracket). Costco carries Interstate @ $85 (a few years ago but prices likely increased), and IIRC, 800CCA (need to confirm).

    Mazda5 TPMS light came on

There's a device that you can buy to program a new tpms sensor. IIRC, the car has a limit of 8 (or 10?) tpms sensors. I *think* it was $10-$20 ballpark on Amazon?? 99% sure Forscan can do it. Youtube keyword FORD (b/c Forzda) TPMS relearn. If you have an air pump, you can deflate the tire...

    Mazda5 Replacement Axles?

I can only suggest you to shop around and always cross-check the source. Also, make sure you understand the difference between a manufacture vs a retailer (rebrand), snoop around for product number and you'll find the link. 3rd party resellers may have axle part number listed incorrectly...

Torque specs / service manual for Mazda5 2.5L engine?

The 2.3 FSM is freely available on the interweb and likely very similar to the 2.5 in all torque specs. I've only seen someone comment/recommend that you can buy a digital copy via ebay but I don't think anyone has post it freely. That said, start paying attention to the barrel diameter of...

Mazda5 Maintenance and Fuel Economy Question

Unless they are physically damaged/torn, you can (and should) reuse OEM bellows and boots. You should join this forum but please don't clog the passing lanes. https://www.hypermiler.co.uk/hypermiling/hypermiling-techniques

Mazda5 Caliper return spring replacement (emergency/parking brake sticking)

Unless you are the type who yells "By the power of Grayskull..." and goes full He-Man every time you pull on the hand brakes, mileage has no correlation to the cable or spring (holding it taught for a LONG time) degrading. Try if this helps first...

    2014 Mazda5: Parking brake sticking (won't release)

Why replace both if one is leaking?? I'm surprise to hear piston O-ring failure (leak) on a '14 car. Helps to watch a quick YT video to understand how "floating" caliper disc brakes work. Calipers are simple devices and pretty easy to rebuild, but it can be tough to fit in new seals due to...

    Alternative to Mazda5?

Are you still on original axles and wheel bearings? What year is the car and how many miles on ODO when you bought it? Mileage is usually not an issue on most engines. Highway miles does minimal wear/tear since the trans stays in top gear, low rev, and constant air cooling. Age (year/time)...
