TheMan has uploaded the 03 Transmission Supplement in recent years.
Perhaps @Antoine can help you figure it out?
I remember jacking up my car using the proper jacking points, and when I lowered the car, I noticed that both rear axle stands had punched through the frame.
That's when I lost all my enthusiasm for the car.
A year or two later, I had a metal plate welded in on the worst side, because it was...
You can test for parasitic power drain by disconnecting the ground from your battery and hooking up an ammeter across the disconnect.
If the ammeter is connected before disconnecting the battery, you won't break the circuit and upset any circuits.
You can also pull fuses and measure the current...
I just noticed this post of yours,..
The only time that I heard of problems with the cheaper all plastic valves, was when the car was turbocharged.
I figure that the extra vacuum pressure was wrecking the valves faster?
In that case an OEM Mazda valve might last longer, but they are...
This is what you need to replace,..
This is from rockauto.com
They are all the same valve.
The vacuum lines may connect differently
VTCS, VICS, EGR Solenoid Valve, and PRC Solenoid Valve
I noticed on my car that the PRC Solenoid Valve had a metal port on the one end.
That's the more...
Sometimes, the axle is REALLY Seized inside the knuckle, the axle threads can get damaged when pounding on it.
Yeah, if you replace the knuckle then everything should be really easy to replace and install.
(This is CAD, it's cheaper in USD)
My car has ABS as well.
I had my knuckles in...
Make sure that you buy a quality wheel bearing that is properly sealed.
I know SKF is supposed to be good and maybe Timkin?
Check their links to make sure the seals are real.
SKF says "sealed" right in their ad,..
Yeah, so did I.
It wasn't until after that I watched that video that I realized that if you remove the brake caliper, you can raise the control arm without hitting anything, so you can line up that bolt.
The guy in the video threads the bolt in by hand.
I suppose it's possible, but Mazda and Protégés are known for having Really Tight Wheel Bearings !!
I remember mechanics that would include the price of a new CV shaft in their bearing replacement quote.
They wouldn't even try to remove the bearing. They would just cut the drive shaft off at...
I made a wheel bearing replacement thread years ago, but photobucket is holding my pictures for ransom. 😂

I managed to download a whole bunch of rusty pictures and put them all at the end of my un-build...
Removing your brake caliper allows you to raise the control arm to line up the bolt without compressing your suspension,..

A few things to consider,..
The Only code that blinks the CEL is engine misfire.
When that happens the ECU sends the car into limp mode, where the engine is flooded with gas (to help protect the engine), the timing advance is reduced, and a few other things.
If the ECU manages to stop the...
The Mazda FS-DE engine is a non-interference engine.
Check your Timing-Belt to see if has skipped teeth.
Apparently the only way to bend valves is to be Way Past red line, with floating valves when the Timing-Belt snaps.
I remember reading that cars in Japan have to meet strick emissions testing when they reach 100,000 km.
I think they have to meet original OEM specs?
A lot of people end up buying a new car instead. So the used engine is sent abroad.
Apparently the Japanese take Way Better care of their cars...
