Dealer based brake flush question (Help! Those who know dealer services)

This is the best advice. Found gravel road and did 10 times harsh brakes kickin' in DSC/ABS. Then I let car "rest for 30 min" since wanted fluid temp to go down. Then I drove. Definitely helped, slightly better. Surprisingly the brake pedal seems to have moved UP a bit (just a bit). I think...

Dealer based brake flush question (Help! Those who know dealer services)

My apologies - I should have stated what was done. My mechanic first removed the hose OEM and then put the stainless steel one. This he repeated for 4 wheels. Then he opened the bleeder and bleed the system 1 wheel at a time. At the end he torqued the bleeder to close - all 4, then went top side...

Dealer based brake flush question (Help! Those who know dealer services)

I replaced my 10+ year Mazda OEM hoses with Goodridge stainless steel braided lines. Then did a manual bleed. Unfortunately, result is not good. After much debate I realize in most probability I introduced air while changing hoses. I can bleed again but my fear is - what if it's in the ABS? 1...

    2022 CX-5 brake question (soft?)

Mazda CX5 in general - and have driven mine and 3 others - all the same. bad when it comes to brake pedal travel. Its just simply : soft. After some R&D and speaking to someone in JP what worked for me: Serious bleed with ABS. Good quality DOT 4 like Bosch/Motul/Typ 200. Upgraded s/steel...

    Mazda's new oil: Not happy

I didn’t tell him. As will look odd. Just told him to dump and replace. He did. Only thing I kept was the brand new OEM filter.

    Mazda's new oil: Not happy

As usual you are absolutely right. No joking. I noticed small improvement but it can be perception. Once I drive around 500 miles will revert.

    Mazda's new oil: Not happy

I will try for a day with Penzoil. But 1 good thing is I don’t have you as my mechanic.

    Mazda's new oil: Not happy

For 10 yrs I have put only their oil w/Moly bought in case of 12 from Med Center. Now - no more and ended up getting scammed by a company metro24 who said they have the old one but sent me the new one. I know how my engine sounds, behaves, etc. Now that I put this new one - engine "growling...

Ah well - thanks @N7turbo - really good you remember me. Anyways - I think I'll skip it then. Just too big a cost on labor. Here in NJ its like $150/hr nominal these days and latest I am hearing many are even at $225/hr. Debating should I go with KONI rear now that have KONI front. % benefit...

    Rear sway bar replacement questions

Did anyone here replace the stock rear sway bar (not links) with a beefy one like Corksport or Progressive? Does it help noticeably with side to side sway? KE model 2016 AWD 2.5L. Also, is there any guide? 1 shop quoted me 7 hrs. Another 4.5. Another 2.5. Very confused.

2021 CX-5 Bumpy ride on new tires

Tire may be over pressured. Different type of tire - harder compounds, 3 peak rated perhaps - you sacrifice comfort for durability. Worst case - bad manufacturing causing hi and low load spots which is extremely common. Regular balancing won't detect.

Amazing convo on tires/suspension with a JP engineer

If you go back in time, early days 2017, I have made couple of posts regarding my convo with a JP engineer who worked in a senior position in Mazda. Yes - I can speak fluent Japanese and yes I have been to his place, his family mine here in US, etc. as we have a common friend / family. I don't...

Night and day difference with Koni Struts

And yes - final re-torque at ride height is absolutely mandatory. For control arms there are 2 bolts - which I re-torqued when in alignment rack from underneath. Effect was immediate compared to an earlier ride of 5 miles same road, torqued while on lift. I also took the opportunity to put EZ...

Quick post - DIY'ers who suffer from rusted/stuck bolts

I did see the YouTube, the issue is this: If you have a stuck nut and you have time, then Kroil beats others. Unfortunately, Kroil is NOT a fast solution. Its used in places where they spray and leave. Come back next day. Then it really shines.

    CX-5 Strut Brands

Just posted - I had gone with KONI, in fact my mechanic gladly took back my KYB and I lost just 1/3rd the price since it was so new. Replaced with KONI and its light and day difference when it comes to city /rural roads with potholes and bumps. Cornering, handling - all improved. And I just did...

Night and day difference with Koni Struts

After so many years my 2016 CX-5 struts got bad - really bad and I opted for KYB struts from Rockauto. Installed them around 8 weeks ago and found they are quite the same as OEM when OEM stuts were in good shape. Basically, nothing to write home about. For those wondering - why not a kit, with...
