    no I never tried to test the limits of my tires sidewall why would I? I know that the tires sidewall was NOT designed to carry the load that way, and I'm sure the manufacturer would tell you the same I still can't believe a shop would do that for you

    if by functional you mean increasing the scrub radius, torque steer, and un-sprung weight while rubbing tires on the the cars sheet metal all to have a certain look, and less money in your bank account then yes that is quite functional
