12M3 How Deeply Buried the Blower Fan?

Thanks for the reply. Vacuum session yesterday looks like it may have been sufficient. Ordered parts today, big rip-off on the resistor prices but where else ya gonna go? Will see if there's any vibration when new parts come, and if not then back together. Don't know how I will get the thing...

12M3 How Deeply Buried the Blower Fan?

Responding to my own question here ... how deeply buried? Nigh to impossible. I think the blower must have been the first thing into the dash on the assembly line and everything else built around it. And to add injury to insult, Mazda didn't do anything to keep mice from getting in through the...

12M3 How Deeply Buried the Blower Fan?

Today I cranked the heater fan up to notch 3 to get some quick heat into the cab, and heard the fan suck something in that sounded like maybe a leaf. So now the dash vibrates badly with any fan setting above 1, although it still works. How deeply buried is the fan? Is there a duct, cover...

Absolute best speed for the highest MPG for gasoline/petrol models?

Best mileage is probably going to be the lowest speed that will stay in high gear. For mine, that's about 44 MPH.

Maybe stupid question, but couldn't tell from the photos, do they have the TPMS sensors?

    Local Dealer Dropping Mazda

Well, I'm a little bummed out. The local dealer where I bought my M3 is dropping Mazda, only handling another brand that I won't mention. So now it's an hour drive or more to the nearest dealer - quite a deconvenience. There goes my dream of owning a red Miata. And there goes Mazda's dream...

    Magnetic Drain Plug, '12 3i 2.0 Skyactiv

No one answered my question, so this time around I armed myself with a calipers. If anyone cares, the size is M14 x 1.5.

Opinions on Bridgestone Ecopia Tires for 2012 M3iT?

Following up my own question for the sake of anyone with similar interest reading it. After quite a bit of research, what I discovered is that the way tire makers get "low rolling resistance" is by using very soft rubber compounds and thin flexible cord in the sidewalls. The result is tires...

New Mazda6 GT Wagon owner here!

Nice, thanks for the pics. Hope Mazda gets some of these to the states in about 2 years, which is when my wife and I may be due for new wheels.

2002 protege misses when a/c is on

Are you sure it's missing? You know the A/C compressor cycles on and off as needed, you can sometimes feel a little bump when it engages.

Opinions on Bridgestone Ecopia Tires for 2012 M3iT?

Hey gang, I am considering Bridgestone Ecopia (low rolling resistance) tires for my 2012 M3iT. My priorities are high efficiency and quiet ride, I am not a racer. They don't come in 40 or 45 aspect, so I would have to go with 17" rims instead of the 18" that I wanted, but the rims I like are...

    Magnetic Drain Plug, '12 3i 2.0 Skyactiv

Thinking about adding a magnetic oil drain plug to my '12 3i 2.0. Have found candidates from NRG and Project Mu, but don't know my thread size. I guess I can measure the threads next time I change the oil, but it would be nice if I could have the new plug ready to go. Anyone know the thread...

What do you guys think of Hydrogen Fuel???

Hydrogen is a perfectly good motor fuel if you follow appropriate safety and storage protocols, but in case you haven't heard, there ain't no free lunch. Electrolysis is a very inefficient way to generate hydrogen, and if you think you can use electricity from your alternator to generate while...

    M3 Squirrelly Behavior on Ice

Had my first icy road experience with my new M3 the other day, and scared the crap out of me. I wasn't expecting great things from the wide low profile tires, but didn't expect it to be nearly this bad. Every time one of the tires would hit a little ice, the car wanted to change direction...

Is There Anyway to Convince Mazda to Bring the 2014 6 Wagon to the U.S.

I'd take one with a 3.0L V6 if it had a class 3 towing package. If no towing a 2.5L four would be a good fit. Sorry to hear they don't want to sell them at all.
