BC Racing Coilovers for Mazda 5 - Unboxing

Welcome. I guess you've read through this thread- give the Yellowspeeds a shot. The torrington bearing up front makes a world of difference for getting rid of spring twist bind. The BC's plastic crap spacer is horrible for this. My wife hates the creaking sound, but it doesn't hurt anything. It...

    2008 2.3L 5 speed auto Dynotronics tune

Hey loose, good to know you're working on a turbo setup... still. I haven't ridden in sac02's post turbo yet, but maybe someday soon. For me, I HAVE to have instant feedback when tuning, so if my 5 ever gets boosted, I'll probably bolt on an AEM FIC and use that. It's cheap, it's proven, I don't...

Running taller tires to increase ground clearance

205/55-17 will give you another 10-11mm of ground clearance without any issues, and it'll be about 2-3% fast (speedo will show slower than real speed) depending on which model tire you use. I'm running 225/50-17 which is a little taller still and wider. 215/50-17 will give you about a 7mm boost...

Mazda5 Wheel Fitment & Photo Guide

Hey guys, been MIA. Back now, pics incoming in a few days I hope of the latest stuff. Currently running 225/50-17 Kumho Ecsta 4X II on the MX-5 wheels. 3mm spacer in front to clear the coilovers, so +52mm offset front, +55mm offset rear. Rubs the crappy fallen fender liners on deep dips when...

BC Racing Coilovers for Mazda 5 - Unboxing

Hey krew, welcome to M247. a: Yeah, pretty much any Mazda 3 suspension setup will swap over to the 5. The 5 is built on the 3's bones- the drivetrain, suspension, and brakes are all interchangeable. Physically anyway. The 3 is lighter, so the spring rates and damping rates won't work 100%...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

I did one side in complete darkness and it over-rolled the lip a bit... bugs the hell out of me. I need to try and correct it with a torch, some ice, and a hammer. :(

More stability with a wider wheel, even with the same size tire.

2012 Mazda5 - About time for new brakes, any recommendations?

I'll have to check the part number for the big rotors on my S2000 to see what they match. I bought C-Teks and E-Coated for the sets that are sitting against the wall for the 5 and the Frontier. I read a TON of reviews and feedback, along with technical info from Centric/Stoptech. They're...

Game: Guess That Unsprung Weight! =Mazda5 Edition=

When I get back from this next trip I'll be replacing all the brake hardware on the front end of the 5. Of course I'll weigh everything as it comes off. The struts/springs were already weighed in my BC coilover install thread. Stock wheel/tire/TPMS/weights were just over 46 pounds I believe.

Number seems high at first go, but not bad once you add it up line by line. :D Shouldn't a longer tongue wag less?

Mazda5 Wheel Fitment & Photo Guide

I'm running 225/45 now, which is dead on with the stock diameter of 25.0 inches. 225/50 will take it right up to 25.9/26.0. Considering I ran 215/50 (25.5) and 235/45 (25.3) on the same offsets with no problems I'd tend to agree, but you never know...
