Actually, you can confirm this for us since you already have a 2016 CX-9. Do any of your armrests have indentations where the foam cushion did not bounce back to its original form? Can you post photos of your armrests, both center and driver-side door?

Trade in 2010 CX-9 or pay 7% title ad valorem taxes?

I moved to a different state and will need to register the CX-9 to get tags. I will have to pay the 7% title ad valorem taxes on the assessed market value of $11,825.00 for the CX-9. This amounts to $827.75. Last year, I had just changed all the brakes (all 4 discs and pads) and installed a...

Test drove a CX-9 Signature "dreadful A/C" is correct

Just as I thought. On any vehicle, window tinting does aid in keeping the interior cool down quicker. And since it blocks harmful UV rays that cause skin cancer, there may also be a health benefit. The downside is somewhat reduced visibility at night.

Thanks for the pics. I invested in Mazda's CX-9 sunshade immediately after buying the vehicle. I figured that it would be worth it given that I would own the vehicle for a long time. I encourage new owners to make the investment in one. Along with window tinting, this would probably have a...

I would keep bugging the dealer (provided you have the time to do so) until they get it fixed. A brand-new car should not be shaking at highway speeds.

Test drove a CX-9 Signature "dreadful A/C" is correct

Same down here in the South, AC performance is really important. Much like the driver's seat adjustments, AC performance all boils down to how much subjective comfort one can or cannot tolerate. Personally, I can live without all the other missing options that someone listed above. They are just...

Alignment, maybe? I also had the 20" tires on my 2010 CX-9 shake like crazy at highway speeds and thought it was the transmission. I did an alignment and transmission flush, as it was due for those services anyway. It still shook like crazy. Finally, I had a screw in one of the tires that...

That would be an issue. Our registration stickers go on the tag itself so I've never had that problem. Sorry.

Good question. Our transponders look like this With the suction cups, it's not a challenge to mount and remove them. I can imagine transponders that are actual stickers being an issue, though. I don't have an answer with regards to those. I used to have transponders like and I would place...

I'm thinking that it wouldn't since the HUD is projected from the dashboard. The tint film shouldn't prevent the projection from being seen. I could be wrong, though. I do know that polarized sunglasses reduces visibility of the HUD, but that seems typical of polarized sunglasses.

Buyers can be real picky and some of those features mentioned are not must haves for me. But a good AC is a must. Panoramic sunroof are nice but heavy glass burns more fuel and disrupts the driving dynamics by making the vehicle top heavy. I, personally, would not want one. The V6 is a nice to...

There's a clear tint for the windshield. Our CX-9 has it. My installer used Llumar Air Blue. It really helps a lot since it blocks UV rays. It is noticeably cooler on the dashboard before I had it installed more than 5 years ago. It's probably doing front seat passengers a lot of good too since...

Test drove a CX-9 Signature "dreadful A/C" is correct

How long does it take to cool after being parked outside for a while? Our 2010 CX-9 GT takes maybe 5 minutes to cool down. This would be after I open all windows and let the heat dissipate a bit. Window tinting does help quite a bit, in my opinion. I guess I'm trying to see if it would be a...

Have any of the new owners tinted their windows? And if so, was there a noticeable change in AC performance given the current blistering temperatures?

I read somewhere that the ZF 9-speed used on the Pilot and MDX automatically shifts to Park once the door opens, so there should not be any risk of a rollaway. I could be wrong though.

The folks at TFL (The Fast Lane Car) are located in Colorado which has higher elevation. I think that 0-60 times in higher elevations tend to be slower, just not sure by how much. Also, Car & Driver does a 1 foot rollout before they start the stopwatch and that makes the 0-60 time seem faster...

It depends on one's perspective. It may not be as "dreadful" to folks who live up North, but to us folks down here in the South, AC performance is a necessity. With temps consistently hovering in the mid-90s and feeling like it's well into the 100s *every* summer for the majority of the...
