I had the same problem on my drivers side. Someone else posted on the board about it too awhile ago and I tried their fix which was use silicone and so far so good.
Are you talking all auto's or just the p5 with an auto. Hopefully I'm not setting myself up for flaming from the guys in this tread like another one i've posted in. I had an auto sunbird that was pretty quick off the line. B&M torque converter with a 3500 stall and a shift kit worked really...
Just so you can flame some more. Here are some pics of the my "rice". But do back peddle a little I do see what the nay sayers are going on about I wouldn't even think of cutting springs in the P5 it's just as simple to order springs, but back when I owned my GM's it wasn't that easy most of...
I'm with the OP on this. In the past I used to own nothing but 2nd Gen Sunbirds/Cavaliers V6's I've cut springs on all of them. I've owned 6. I dropped them all 2". I also cut the springs for my Beretta and my S15. Never had a bit of suspension problems. I'd say if you know what you are...
Mine isn't an ES version on the Registration it says Sport and when the the CO's at work run my vin it comes up as Protege5 Sport. I see a million sedans around that have ES badges.

I had an old Pontiac Sunbird that leaked like that. It turned out the trunk and rear wheel wells were rotten along the weld seams. What was happening was the water being kicked up from driving during rain was running into the car. It was kind of a big job, had to remove all the trunk carpet...
^^^^^ not always possible. when i went through insurance for an accident my gf had our company only gave us two choices of shops. We lucked out the one we picked did a bang up job.
To the OP, I would be giving that shop hell unless you were pulling around on plastic they did a horrible job...
For the climate knob check the drivers side up under around where the stereo is you'll see a cable that connects your controls to the actual "switch" the cable should be held in place by a clip. If the clip isn't there instead of the steel rod only moving through the sleeve the whole thing...
Black or gun metal for sure. There is a silver P5 in my area sporting black rims with polished lip and it looks sharp.
As for painting them pretty easy but time consuming. i read a how to somewhere not sure if it was on this site or another one. you just use your basic principals of painting...
