I'd like to see a three way comparo; 3s, Forte Hatch and Golf.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with road feedback (coming from an 01 Protege). My car does give more feedback, but I found the 3's electric power steering to be as good as some other hydraulic power steering. Felt as nice as my Dad's 07 Mazda 6.

No, I don't want one made in Mexico. I'm planning on buying in September (for the deals) but wouldn't want one built in Mexico. If the Mexican built ones start showing early summer, I doubt I'll be able to find a Japanese built 3 in September.

This all depends on how well the 6 Diesel is received and sales of the Cruze diesel.

How does it look like? This one is on a hatchback but I doubt they change the design for the Sedan.

^ The first generation was by far the worst, too bad because they are such nice cars. If you look at some used 2nd generation 3's, the result seems somewhat good. Somewhat because Mazda still has thin paint making them more vulnerable to rock chips. A part from that, I haven't heard of any other...

The first few months of the issue, their temporary fix was frequent oil changes. Now, they have a more permanent fix that seems to be working for most (i think) people on this forum. Lets hope it is a permanent fix. From...

^ which problems? I've heard of the new dipstick (no biggy IMO) and the regen cycles forcing diesel fuel in the oil sump (that's pretty bad). Both have been fixed to my knowledge. Are there any other that have been occurring?

Its so that people get used to the idea of Mazda's powered by diesels. It'll also probably show up in the first ads of the Mazda 6 diesel.

For any Canadians wondering, I sent Mazda Canada an email and we won't see the Diesel until the spring like the rest of NA.

That's really too bad. I hope they could get at least a few of those issues sorted out soon. I also can't believe how they aren't eager to find a fix for your AC leak. Guaranteed your not the first with this issue.

The 2.5 will be getting the manual transmission soon! I haven't heard of an official date, but my guess is a few extra months.

Have you tried contacting your dealership? First time I've heard this happening to Mazda's new diesel engine.

It will. The Mazda 2 will be built by Mazda (Mazda engine and transmission tbd) and Toyota will rebadge one into maybe a Scion, give it some different panels to make it look like a Scion, let Mazda build it at their new Mexican plant, and call it a day.

Why don't they just put the 2.2 diesel with nice performance upgrades. 230hp, 320lbs/ft of torque! If Mazda wants to differentiate their Speed3, don't go high-revving NA 2.0, go diesel!

The new Golf/Jetta 1.8l Turbo that is will be available next year is supposed to have 170hp and probably more lower end torque. The Dart when equipped with the 2.4l makes 184hp but produces around 170lbs/ft of torque.

The 2.0 litre is great for people cross shopping the 3 with the Civic, Elantra and Corolla which all come with 1.8L. I think the 2.0 will be a great regular engine, but when compared to a more powerful, somewhat as efficient 2.5 litre, I can't see why any journalist would praise the 2.0 litre.
