If the tube is clean then no debris will get in. If the tube was put down on something dirty, and got debris on or in it, or the pump had stuff in it then it might bet in the oil. It's fine, I'm anal about my funnel being clean too. 8 ounces is more than I would have thought would be left in...

If I was to drain a little oil I would loosen the drain plug too, instead of using the tube/suction method. I feel like it is too easy to get dirt in or on the tube and it would end up in the oil.

I think it is fine. The issue with having too much oil is that it gets air bubbles churned into it and then the flow from the oil pump isn't good. Even from the first overfill no damage was done. I wonder why they over fill your car. They do hundreds of oil changes a month, they should be experts.

I believe the drivers saying their cars are peppier and getting better mpg, but I don't understand how it is possible. Eventually I will make a video of mine showing my mpg monitor while driving a loop with TCS off and the same loop with it on.

Put in 5 quarts + 425cc's to be just about to the max line. cc is the same volume as ml, so 425ml. When changing oil it only makes sense to fill it and not partially fill it with just 5 quarts. You can pick up a measuring cup at Walmart that has increments of cubic centimeters or milliliters...

I think the traction control system is broken in some of these cars and for some reason TCS drags the brakes when it is on. I would want you guys to check the brake temperature after a drive with TCS on and TCS off to see if the brakes are hotter with it on than with it off. I have no difference...

Don't feel too bad, at one point I thought clear coat was peeling off my rims, and after posting pictures here, people told me it was pieces of the plastic rim protectant that the prep people at the dealership left. And that was exactly what it was.
