Thanks for all the info everyone. I guess the basic question I'm wondering is whether putting on a turbo is as "easy" (quote-unquote) as just putting it on?

I'm looking at the installation guide from Flyin' Miata's Turbo kit. Looks like everything is included? No need to change camshafts, pistonrods? Would I need to change stuff on my engine? Or would that just depend on the turbo kit?

Just wondering if... well, if I were to buy a bolt on turbo kit for a Mazda Protege, is there lots of other stuff I have to change? I'm just trying to justify it in my head. I know the bolt on turbo kits usually come with everything including CAI (correct me if I'm wrong, btw), intercooler...

hmm... 130 hp... well, I'm kinda in a debate between Impreza and Protege. Impreza has more power and AWD and disc brakes for a bit more (not much more). Mazda has handling... and... looks? :P Quite a few people in my car club are running Imprezas in AutoX. Not too many Protege people :P

Hmm... well, I'm looking at both the Impreza and the Protege right now as options. And well, the Impreza seems to have more things going for it in terms of value per dollar. I'm pretty much looking for a daily driver which will allow spirited driving :P Could someone convince me otherwise?

How about sway bars? We're allowed one, right? or something like that... Is the Protege 5 suspension the same as the one in the ES? Wootz! FWD fun :P
