Official 2026 Mazda CX-5 Pics and Details Released

What's funny is what they are charging for said tin can.

    CX-5 Battery Replacement recommendation?

Interesting. I'm 3 years into my 2nd Interstate from Costco. First one lasted 5 years.

    Brakes Need Work Again

Thanks for the input all. Thinking I might try the Brembo rotors with the Element 3 pads. Thoughts? The shipping is about $32. Not bad really, under $300 for everything.

So that's two votes for the Element 3's then. Nice. I was thinking Akebono pads, but saw mixed reactions. I thought they were the OE for Mazda so figured safe bet. Then saw the Element 3's were a hybrid ceramic / semi-metallic so figured that would be an upgrade to the stopping power over just...

    Brakes Need Work Again

Honestly I think I will take @HyFlyer's advice and just keep the Bosch rotors around and get them resurfaced for the next time and then can switch them.

    That's a great idea.

    Should I get a 2020 CX-5 with 177,000km?

I think it depends on what all got done and how the suspension looks. Per the service manual, coolant change is the next major service you have coming up on the vehicle. But at that mileage you will want to get the suspension inspected too and make sure that is looking good. Same with the...

    Should I get a 2020 CX-5 with 177,000km?

2.5L NA or 2.5L Turbo model? I would see if you can get the full service history of the vehicle. At that mileage (kilometer-age?), as a 2020, it's not that old, but that's about ~109k miles, so may need shocks and struts or at least those parts should be inspected (along with the rest of the...

    Brakes Need Work Again

Hey all, an update...So I cleaned up all the wheel hubs with a resurfacing kit, cleaned up the calipers and slide pins, re-greased and put everything back together. The slide pins were working fine, so did not see any stuck pins as a source of the issue. Sadly, still getting wicked vibrations...

Official 2026 Mazda CX-5 Pics and Details Released

Seen others saying the giant iPad was unresponsive and unreliable at times. Also wouldn't function without being online. Supposedly supposed to download a language pack to function offline after you select the language but obviously there could totally be scenarios where that doesn't happen. I...

2013~2016 Inspecting and Re-Torquing my CX-5 Lower Control Arms

I used OE lower control arms. This is good info, thank you. Can confirm the clunking I heard at times is gone and the steering and suspension feel much better since getting the tie rods and shocks replaced. That said still hear that front end creaking. Bushings were in good condition.

2013~2016 Inspecting and Re-Torquing my CX-5 Lower Control Arms

Had a shop investigate and they confirmed lots of play in the outer tie rods. It'll be a while before I can get the time and space to do a tie rod job so am having them replace them and the rear shocks while they are at it.

2013~2016 Inspecting and Re-Torquing my CX-5 Lower Control Arms

Can't where I live. At the mercy of borrowing something bigger than my narrow single car garage. Decided at this point its best to just have it inspected.

2013~2016 Inspecting and Re-Torquing my CX-5 Lower Control Arms

Will do. Strut mounts got replaced shortly after the lower control arms, and end links, when I had the struts replaced. Edit: Noticed I can replicate clunking noise when stopped and moving steering wheel back and forth. Tie rods maybe?

2013~2016 Inspecting and Re-Torquing my CX-5 Lower Control Arms

When I go over small bump like a parking lot speed bump for instance, or a small dip is when its most pronounced. Sometimes I hear it when slow speed turning too.

2013~2016 Inspecting and Re-Torquing my CX-5 Lower Control Arms

Guess it was fine. All the bushings look to be in great shape. No idea what's creaking. I still loosened and re-torqued the 158-191 ft lb horizontal bolts with the wheels at ride height for good measure.

Thank you! Well will see how it looks. Something is creaking down there. Suppose it could be something else.
