2013~2016 Replacing CX-5 Driver and Passenger side mirrors

Hey all, I had started a post about this maybe a year or two ago and then like I typically do, procrastinated about it until now when my driver side mirror is really starting to to fall apart. It started with minor vibrations in the mirror. Now it's clear the adhesive is failing between the...

How insane is a 140mph+ speedometer?

I've done 110 in mine, but that was maybe 11-12 years ago now. And yeah same thing. I haven't had a ticket since 2010 or 2011.

Stabilizer links with OEM replaced - but weird now when driving

Think I need to do that on mine lol.

Official 2026 Mazda CX-5 Pics and Details Released

I've been seeing some shorts and videos on YouTube where people are trying out the interior controls on a 2026 CX-5 and gotta say even the steering wheel buttons sound...."cheap"?

Official 2026 Mazda CX-5 Pics and Details Released

Remains to be seen I am sure. I agree that it will probably continue to sell like hotcakes. Isn't the CX-5 their best selling model? I don't think that will change. Touch and tap is just not the same as feel and press. You can feel a control without looking and know what it is and how to use...

    Brakes Need Work Again

No salt. They use mag chloride here, but honestly we haven't even had much more than 1 snowstorm all winter so far. Supposedly we'll get some more snow today. Will see. I was at the car wash yesterday and just based on what I could see through the wheels, the hardware looked fine. Rotors also...

Stabilizer links with OEM replaced - but weird now when driving

You know I did my front suspension a year ago with jack stands and I think stuff was drooped. Now wondering if I screwed it up. EDIT: I might have jacked up the wheel hub / knuckle when I tightened down the LCA and sway bar links, but now I honestly don't remember. Might have to just...

    Show me your CX-5 wheels

I hope you do occasionally take it where you can gets the revs up and WOT at times. Engine with the direct injection certainly benefits from that.

    Brakes Need Work Again

Hey all, this may be a dumb question, but just curious. If I pulled off all the rotors and pads to check the condition of the wheel hub underneath, cleaned them off with a wire wheel / wire brush (do you then put on some anti-seize on the surface of the wheel hub?) if the rotors and pads are...

How insane is a 140mph+ speedometer?

I've hit a high MPH in my 2014 NA 2.5L before (I-80 in Wyoming). I don't really drive like that anymore though. Amazing I never got a ticket doing that back in the day. What's even crazier is the speedometer on my CX-5 goes up to 160 MPH. As if! 😂

How many miles on your first generation CX-5?

I have a 2014 Touring AWD (no tech or moonroof packages) bought in April 2013 (build date of 01/2013) - currently 149,250 miles. I started drain / fills on the ATF around 71k miles (did a series of 3 drain and fills each a week apart to get as much new fluid in as possible). Did it again with a...

Who is switching to winter tires and steel wheels?

We used to get our heaviest snows in March. Will see what happens this year. We also used to get plenty in November and December, but here we are.

Still tire shopping for my 2021 CX-5, staying with stock size. Suggestions?

Didn't put that many miles on my RT43's before I needed to replace them. They still had tread left, but were starting to hit the "dry rot" period so I replaced them last May. I went to look at how they were holding up and you could rub the rubber a bit with your finger and it was rubbing off. So...

Who is switching to winter tires and steel wheels?

I have never seen a winter like what we've had so far here in Denver. Seriously, 1 single snowstorm in November. And actually if I am being completely truthful, we got a little bit of snow one night last week but it all melted by noon basically. I am not looking forward to the inevitable drought...

Who is switching to winter tires and steel wheels?

I use 225/65 17" for both regular and winter tires. I have a cheap alloy set of wheels for the winters, but I actually like them better than my stock wheels looks wise. Very similar look to the 2016 19" wheels (the "vampire fangs"). I have Viking Contact 7's on right now. We've gotten a total...

    Brakes Need Work Again

Thanks for the info. I would most likely go the path of just installing new pads / rotors and then doing the bedding procedure. Little tricky finding an area to do that where I live, but I have a buddy who lives in an area I could find an empty road to do that on. Not particularly with long...

    Brakes Need Work Again

So in the summer of 2023 I replaced all 4 rotors and sets of brake pads. Replaced the brake fluid, and we bedded in the brakes when done. Fast forward to today and the brakes give me a hell of a wicked vibration at times. So I figured ok, need to replace the rotors (or have current ones...

    Differential fluid change interval?

Thanks. Gearing up to do the rear differential and transfer cases when I hit 150k. First time doing both myself so want to make sure I put in the right stuff. And yes, will crack open the fill plugs first. :)

    2013~2016 CX-5 HVAC stopped blowing

Mine did that. It would intermittently start working again before it finally just died died. Replaced blower motor and all is right again. I went the aftermarket route with a Napa unit. Its solid construction, but noticeably louder at the lower fan settings. If you think that will bother you...
