    Goodbye Mazda Community

You beg to differ that an MS3 is quicker than the Maxima? Yeah okay.. There are plenty of cars quicker than an MS3 but the Nissan Maxima isn't one of them.

    Goodbye Mazda Community

Neat but I wouldn't consider that a "sports car" anymore or less than a MS3 plus its still FWD :( Could've had a far superior performing G37 sedan or even a 335i but whatever floats your boat. Congrats!

    New MS3 Owner

As long as it was installed by a certified mazdaspeed tech at time of purchase but it still doesn’t protect against hydrolock. You can get a short ram intake for the price, a lot easier and faster to install / uninstall, easier maintenance, same power gains, no worries of hydrolock and even...

    Lexus LFA

Why's that? Last time I checked it was no more capable than the standard GTR. http://www.fastestlaps.com/comparisons/4717b80e35715-vs-_Nissan_GT-R_SpecV.html Personally, I would need to test drive before deciding. But for some reason I think the LFA will be far more enjoyable / rewarding to...

    1/4 mile Drag with MS3

So you can't enjoy your car without doing something it wasn't designed for? It doesn't matter if you go 1 or 100 times, the car is simply poop for drag racing.

    1/4 mile Drag with MS3

No, the point is that drag racing is especially damaging to this car. This has nothing to do with being a “killjoy” it’s called “reality”. If you want to race enter events this car was more designed for like road racing or autocross. The motor mounts, axles, transmission and other components on...

    1/4 mile Drag with MS3

This car is horrible for drag racing and that Car and Driver explanation on how to race this car down the 1/4 is a great way to break stuff fast. I don't care if they said they went down the strip 30 times, stuff does break on this car. Besides, Car and Driver probably didn’t even test on a real...

Hi All - New to this Forum

That's money well spent, instant 15-20whp right there. Just make sure you disconnect the neg battery terminal during the install for about 10min so the ECU can adjust to the new air flow.

    Maybe buying...

That's a 08.5 or 09' MS3 GT. Seeing as the car is around 25k new, 19.8k doesn't sound too bad with just 8,600miles on the clock.

    Maybe buying...

Keep in mine dealers / people trying to sell cars will say anything to get your money. The “family needed a bigger car” is one of the most typical claims. One of my favorites is “The car was owned by an elderly man” the list goes on.

    2010 Mazdaspeed 3 Dyno Run

A dive bomb at 5200ish rpms?? That's odd, most I've seen for 07-09's are right in line with the OP's DYNO. And when I've driven a 10' sure enough the power dropped off just at the point my 08' drops off. The best shifting point for both 1st / 2nd GEN MS3's remain at around 5750rpms and both...

    Future of the "hot-hatch" / MS3 ???

Nope the HHR SS ran 8:43.52 plus you got to take into account the MS3 ran 8:39.00 running around traffic with an inexperienced ring driver as well as not being too familiar with the car. I think it could run at least 8:2X.XX under the right set of circumstances. Yeah the MS3 is a nice bang for...

    Lexus LFA

In the U.K. they aren't very impressed with the 1st GEN 3MPS mainly due to the suspension tuning and this so called “torque steer”. The 2nd GEN 3MPS received slightly better reviews because the suspension is tuned a lot better for bad roads, especially in the U.K. Also, the "euro-spec" 2nd...

    "Premium Fuel Only" . . .

Exactly! At the bare minimum this car needs 93 really. Putting 87/89 in the tank is problems waiting to happen. That Mazda says and reality aren't always the same.

    "Premium Fuel Only" . . .

I wouldn't count on Mazda taking care of the bill if that happened. And no, performance ISN'T the only thing potentially damaged when the failure to use the proper fuel occurs. Yeah the manual says that if you absolutely have to - in case of an emergency (premium isnt available) go ahead and use...

    "Premium Fuel Only" . . .

I guess but I would never sacrifice the reliability of my vehicle to save a couple bucks at the tank.

Might start getting Speed3s at work... Need some Help

Those are EXTREMELY low balled prices! A new motor for this car (MS3) goes for at least 8-10k if I remember correctly. The transmission is also expensive. I believe a new tranny will set you back like 4-5k or so. My transmission was "rebuilt" under warranty and the tab was $3,700.00 so I know...

    "Premium Fuel Only" . . .

Why not just put in 91 or higher every time? Is it where you live? I've heard of plenty of incidents were none premium really screwed up peoples vehicle which called for at least 91+ I think I would run a tank of 102 unleaded race fuel if I screwed up and filled with none premium.
