What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

I have a 2013 and was pretty confused b/c I thought you were talking about the fog design being better, but you must mean the headlights, huh?

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Foglight (bulbs?) easier to change than headlight (bulbs?)? Unless you are missing your undertray, I call shenanigans! The headlight bulbs take all of 30seconds, and you don't have to lay down to get to them.

Stainless steel or alloy look pedals installed - photos

That flap is a countermeasure to keep owners from getting their foot trapped behind the b-pedal, when moving their foot from the a-pedal to the b-pedal. Seriously. We've implemented the same thing on several Toyota models b/c stupid people do that, then blame us (either in court, or to NHTSA).

Installing Morimoto HID Kit and comparison to stock

Hey Kojack, you and i had an almost identical Q&A exchange in my thread previously. It sounds like you absolutely have a 100% legitimate need for extreme amounts of forward light. The reason we (the forum in general) are arguing with you when you ask about adapting 55W HID's into your stock...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Ah, that's right, I forgot. Less performance, more lows! (not trying to rag on tbholbrook, I like the look of his 5 in general. I'd like side sills and a front lip eventually myself. In fact, I wish I could have gotten my car in white, I think it looks very clean.) PLEASE tell me that...

Static review: White wall & lux comparison: LED, H11 LL, H11+100, H9

There are two MTG2 emitters as part of each bulb. Hellst advertises 3600 lumen from each bulb, which is 1800/emitter and not unreasonable, based on looking at the Cree spec sheet for the MTG2: http://www.cree.com/LED-Components-and-Modules/Products/XLamp/Arrays-Directional/XLamp-MTG2-EasyWhite...

    2013 Mazda5 turbocharger installation

AWESOME. Thanks a lot for that research, that is very helpful. I asked around on my boosted mz3 FB group regarding clutches and flywheels, and based on some feedback I'm leaning towards an OEM ms3 clutch/pressure plate, and a lightweight aftermarket flywheel (Fidanza being the apparent default...

    2013 Mazda5 turbocharger installation

Thanks for the info loosenut. I'm not too scared about getting the trans in place (famous last words), since we know it fits in the identically shaped ms3. But it helps to know that I should expect it to be tight, just the fact of being prepared for issues like that makes a huge difference...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

At 100k they are almost certainly toast, especially the passenger side motor mount.

AST 4100 coilover suspension (and wheels/tires)

About $1800. Like I said (somewhere, maybe not this thread), I got lucky. :)

    2013 Mazda5 turbocharger installation

Honestly, I don't know how difficult it's going to be. I was trying to get info regarding the swap (into a 5, or 3, or anything), but was finding very little. So you say the ms3-trans-into-mz3 is reportedly a PITA? I would really like to know what you have heard about the difficulties...

    2013 Mazda5 turbocharger installation

Meisenman, Davicho is correct. The design of an open differential is such that when one wheel begins to slip, 100% of the engine's torque is directed to that wheel - the wheel with no traction. With an open diff, you only have as much traction as the wheel with the least traction. Hence "one...

    Passenger side motor mount exploded!

Yeah, they do that, though that's one of the more gruesome ones I've seen. If you replace with stock, it will happen again eventually. Sorry, I have no input on the JBR. Actually I would like to know the same thing. (NVH) I want/need stiffer mounts, but don't want significantly more NVH as...
