My vote would be to leave it, but only because I'm retired and lazy now.

I'm satisfied with mine; would buy again. They are a little thin compared to other brands. Occasionally, I have to bend the 3D logo back into shape so it doesn't catch on someone's shoe.

I tried to use a magic eraser on a stain on a leather ottoman and it made it much worse. I've had great luck using hairspray to remove ballpoint pen ink from leather couches, so it might work in your situation (spray it on the towel, not directly on the leather). Good luck.
