Who is switching to winter tires and steel wheels?

I don't play road tag anymore. If someone gets too close I just pull over at the next available space and let them go. People don't learn the consequences of their actions until it's too late. I try not to be part of their scenario.

Who is switching to winter tires and steel wheels?

Yep, all-seasons are a poor substitute in slippery winter driving conditions. I've caught myself driving on icy back roads in the early dark morning hours for miles without realizing it a few times.

Ed, any particular reason you traded the '22 or did you just want to treat yourself?

Who is switching to winter tires and steel wheels?

That is exactly why I stay off the highway during bad snowstorms, I take back roads. People who don't have experience in snow do that crap. Especially the influx of new drivers every year.

    2017~2025 CX-5 Rear Differential Failure

So, what are you actually experiencing here? "Has lots of play", is this some thing they noticed? Problem description is vague, I'd get a second opinion. It may somebody's unprofessional opinion.

    2017~2025 CX-5 Rear Differential Failure

As been said many times on here, no such thing as a lifetime fluid. ALL fluids should be changed at one time or another.

Who is switching to winter tires and steel wheels?

I agree, more pressure adds stability to a soft tire IMO.

Oil filter change and recommended filter cap wrench

Doesn't matter how long you wait, you're never going to get it all out. There's always at least a quart left in the engine on and in internal surfaces. My wait is about 10 minutes.

    Dealer won't use synthetic oil - 2022 CX-5 Turbo

My references were always to the point of keeping a car past the 200k or even 300k mile mark. Are you hurting your engine at your miles? Meh, maybe not, only thing that'll tell you that is a tear down which isn't really warranted. Carry on.

What in the world is going on here? Edit: Fixed!

Glad you posted, that Deoxit is great stuff. I need to have a look in there myself one of these days. There was a TSB some time ago for later models addressing that very same problem, water egress.

That's Morse code for "replace me, replace me".

    Dealer won't use synthetic oil - 2022 CX-5 Turbo

Depends on how long you want to keep it. Like I said, buildup around rings takes time. If you did a tear down around 200k you'd see the problem. Plenty of videos around showing this because of extended OCI. 100k come to think of it is relatively young these days. Running great now doesn't really...

How do you pick winter tires?

ANY winter tire is better than an all-season. I used to buy Blizzaks but now am happy with and will settle for Coopers. Look for an aggressive tread with good siping. Don't overthink this.

2015 CX-5 Passenger Door Lock Issues

This seems like a good place to start. I've had an issue with all 4 locks firing repeatedly on occasion since new. Dealer pegged it as a "can't replicate problem" even after I showed them a video and it happened on their lot in front of the service advisor when picking up the car. Anyway...
