85 Celica GTS. I traded it for the msp. Should have kept it and either a) made it a project car (22R-E motor just begging for boost), b) driven it in the winter, or c) taken out the amazing seats and had them reupholstered for this car (seats: adjustable side bolster, 2 way adjustable seat...
Warranty? All you're doing is changing the material that the pipes are made of and improving the valve that came stock. I have had warranty work done with mine, and there has been NO issue. They might look at a FMIC differently or a boost controller...
Viper. they're' both stupidly fast cars though, so if the vettes are beating the vipers, ... who cares? chances are you won't be racing the other one while you're there, so enjoy the experience of a finely tuned V10.
in my setup, turbosmart dual port solves about 90% of the turkey 90% of the time. one valve, recirc and blow off. does the same thing as dual valve with one valve. less piping in the motor too.
not on your list, but I use the Turbosmart dual port - recirc and blow off. sounds like a whip most of the time at stock boost - nearly eliminates surge without stalling. At higher boost levels it's pretty damned loud. Sorry no clips to share. Prob one of the more pricey ones out there though.
if you're filling up on a 1/4 tank, the amount in the hose might reduce the octane level from 93 to 92.998... chances are there's more variability in 93 from station to station than you get from a few drops of 87 in the hose.
Edit: i see you're from Markham - just hit up Sunoco and put in 94...
OMG. Wesman, next AutoX I'm there. PM me on toprotege when you're going. I'm planning on Barrie in 2 weeks... That's a friggin' beast! Looks like you're doing more higher speed stuff than AutoX, have you looked at changing the dif ratio...
I looked at doing this too - in order for it to work the diagonal distance from the lower back part of the gauge to the upper front has to be less than teh clearance behind the gauges. Plus then you have to account for the wiring getting in the way. I'm not sure a "flip" concept would work...
part of the reason you may only have a few names on the list is that we all have different mental images of what this thing will be and look like. When we all look at the different companies for CAIs, we see Injen, K&N, Vibrant, Ractive, E-bay, and true custom one-offs. There are many different...
Just picked this up used, and need a little help with the actual wiring. As you can see from the pics, I need to know the order of wires coming from the connector - is it red, black, blue, white, or red, black, white, blue?
Thanks in advance.
or go with a dual port valve like the Turbosmart. Tiny bit of turkey, but a nice pssssht too. sounds kinda like a whip (wha-chhhhht) and is loud enough at 5psi (yes, less than stock for now) to scare little old ladies. :)
Edit: we have internal wastegates. the flutter is most likely NOT the...
