CX-90 Turbo S vs. Turbo Differences and drivetrain notes

Just wanted to update this post as I believe my original theory was wrong. There were many parts of the diagrams that were hard to follow / unclear exactly where they routed (between pages of the diagrams). I originally had made some educated guesses. After having another user point me to...

    Mazda interview discussing inline-6

So I think this may not be true, there were parts of the diagrams that were not clear via the diagrams and after spending more time, it looks like the sub-radiator is actually tied to additional cooling capacity based around towing capacity. I need to go update that post.

    CX-90 ADM?!

I paid MSRP for an on-the-lot allocation. Seeing plenty of others getting the same. I would be very wary of paying mark-up....... Anybody willing to pay mark-up should only do so if they get GAP insurance and make sure the GAP insurance will cover the mark-up....

    CX-90 Blind Spot Monitor Malfunction

Completely agree. It appears that whatever the culprit (noise floor or something of the like) for the sensors are likely dynamic, because when the system operates normally it tends to stay that way, and once it starts acting up it continues to occur / the frequency of occurrences tends to go up...

    CX-90 Blind Spot Monitor Malfunction

As far as I can tell, adjusting this setting doesn't seem to effect the false positive (sensor alerts come up and hold with nothing there, on open flat country roads) that I am seeing.

    CX-90 Blind Spot Monitor Malfunction

Id say its likely that there is some kind of interferences its picking up that they didnt see much of in testing. Because this is RF based, I am sure they have the DSP capacity in the system to add some filtering to take care of the issue. The system works well for true hits in the blind spot, I...

    Need help from CX-90 Owners

I went the extended warranty route, as I hope to keep the vehicle longer then my last at 7 years. I think in general leasing isn't going to be great right now due to cost of capital (interest rates), but its possible to get pretty good loan rates from Mazda financial (better than my bank /CU...

    Need help from CX-90 Owners

    1) According to the menu's it does appear that updates of some kind can come OTA, but I am not sure if this is just infotainment related updates, this may cascade to safety systems as well as the infotainment integration into the safety systems are there. Traditionally, TCM / ECU updates are...

    Need help from CX-90 Owners

    1) Yes and yes. 2) I remember reading that the PHEV platform is based off a non-USA offering I believe in the cx-60? So its not entirely new, but its not Prius old either. 3) On the S trim levels, the 7 seater is a bench in the second row (only available on Turbo S base), still has two seats in...

    CX-90 Blind Spot Monitor Malfunction

The one thing that makes me at least not get too frustrated by the BSM false positive, is that when I expect it to alert me, it seems to function fine. But I agree, this will need fixing. As long as Mazda is committed to working through these growing pains, its sort of the price to pay for...

    CX-90 Blind Spot Monitor Malfunction

I experienced this just yesterday for the first time, and it is gone today. Yesterday it occurred in two different trips (driving cycle). Yesterday was rainy and today is a nice day. So track if it seems to only occur during rain. The next time it happens, I am going to try turning the BSM...

Had the BSM glitch out again on my way home so it wasn't RF interference (completely different area). No issues this AM. Wondering if its weather related as it was raining yesterday. Something to keep an eye on.... What is happening with me is the BSM alert is coming up and holding for long...

Ironically, I think I saw my first glitch with the BSM system today, basically came up and was held for a significant amount of time on one side of the vehicle. I was cruising anywhere from 35-45 mph. It would randomly go away for a few seconds then come back and hold for 30-60 seconds. First...

I think id still prefer this scenario to changing plugs on a DOHC boxer motor. I didnt get a chance to look for the sub-radiator yet, just had a medical procedure done that has taken me out of commission. But it will exist on the passenger side, likely tucked into the area underneath the...

CX-90 Turbo S vs. Turbo Differences and drivetrain notes

Like I said, because it is a separate loop that feeds the air-to-water intercooler directly, it has to be for the performance side. Ill confirm this weekend when I look on my TS. If this is the case, upgrading the sub-radiator may be a useful upgrade, as upgrading the air-to-water intercooler...

CX-90 Turbo S vs. Turbo Differences and drivetrain notes

Found some parts dealers with service / part diagrams posted on the web, and came across this interesting bit. There is a differentiator for a 3.3L w/ sub-radiator & 3.3L w/o sub-radiator. By looking through all the parts diagrams, this sub-radiator feeds the air-to-water intercooler. When the...

1st Mazda: CX-90 Turbo S PP Artisan Red on Tan

Hello fellow Turbo S Prem Plus owner. If you are having issues with the occasional driver detect misfire, one thing I have noticed that seems to dramatically decrease this has to do with how you turn the vehicle on. If you first turn on the car without pressing the brake (powering on, but not...

    CX-90 Drag race

Manual specifically states not to use off-road mode on surfaces with good traction, as it probably is much harder on the center diff / clutch pack assembly (I haven't found any good information how the bias front to rear is controlled). So for those new owners itching to play I would advise...
