I don't much like the effort required to make that shift either.

The gas mileage is mediocre. I know most people here don't seem to care. I find it impossible to not mash the accelerator and my mileage suffers.

MP3 compatibility is one of the mid-year enhancements. The 2008.5 will have the upgraded CD player.

I will probably eventually put a MS CAI on the car, but for now it is absolutely stock.

I just finished removing mine. I went back and forth about it for a good hour but decided to do it in the end. The doors do look taller without them but also sleeker (a bit like the doors on my roommates new 335i). I will post some details about the job later.

I love the CB without them. Mine are coming off right now. I'll be back in a few to tell you all how the process went.

I was worried about increased door dings without the trim pieces, but I was looking at the car today and they seem too low on the door to offer any protection at all. I think mine may be coming off too.

Also, it is possible to fail the visual part of the smog test in California with a non-sanctioned CAI. Sometimes the techs care and other times they seem not to.

You guys would be proud of me...I now have 360 miles on the Speed. I bought the extended warranty so I have 6 years and I have been having fun to the tune of 16 mpg. The first door ding is going to be a b**** though - that is why the car mostly hides in the garage.

I have 150 miles on mine after 2 weeks. I can't bear to drive it anywhere because I don't want anything to happen to it.

I vote for the camera (which is a great entry level slr by the way)! That way you can take pics of your MS3 and all of the mods you will add later.

I like the fact that I can actually sort of afford one, unlike an M3.
