2020 CX-5 GT - New Android Auto rolling out for 2023?

I haven't seen how to access it, or any screenshots of such. I'll search some more, but please give more detail if you know.

2020 CX-5 GT - New Android Auto rolling out for 2023?

I just got it today. So far I hate it. I like the map to be full screen, but still able to pause my audiobook on audible. Now I have to eather lose 30% of my map, or not be able to pause/resume. If my 2018 had a pause function on the steering wheel, or even command knob interface, then I'd...

    Mazda Nav update email?

Yeah, I found it very rude that there is no mention of fee in the email, or app they want you to install. Fortunately I'm so unimpressed with the Nav compared to Android Auto, that its a very easy decision to forego spending any money whatsoever, let alone what they want to charge.

2022 CX-5: No Parchment with Turbo spec but 6 more HP?

Funny, I started researching cars for my wife's next one back something like 2016. That's how I found the CX-5, of which she was not enamored. I ended up getting the 2018 for myself, and had to nurse my old car along for her because she couldn't settle on anything. For a long time, she was...

Powerstop Drilled and Slotted Rotors Pros/Cons?

I haven't shopped for since a couple years ago, but just want to give an endorsement to the geomet coated blanks. They have held up great and look way better than the stock rotors. I got my rotors and Powerstop Z23 (I think) from Rock Auto who had the best price.

Replacement Key Fob for 2020 CX-5?

3 years ago I ordered a 3rd key fob for my 2018 from OEM Car Key Mall for $53.10. I had it programmed at a local locksmith, I think that was $80.

2019 CX-5 33K miles. Red "teapot" oil lite came on, then CEL…Now all off

I had a warning light one time for oil on my 2018. And it was after I'd gone to the dealer for something completely unrelated, like Android Auto install, or recall or something. And they informed me afterwards that I had too much oil, and they had removed some. That pissed me off. I didn't...

Seeking Mazda AWD system design details

I think its a lot more sophisticated than that statement suggests. From my recollection, it uses a lot of sensing input and calculation to infer conditions and can apply braking to each wheel independently in addition to adjusting the relative front/rear power distribution. And they do talk...

Seeking Mazda AWD system design details

I could probably dig up some Dave Coleman tech talk videos for the 2nd gen CX-5, which is the basis for the 2023. But it wouldn't cover the recent refinements and off-road mode and such, if that's what you are after.

DIY Engine oil change and Manufacturer Warranty

Interesting. I've had ramps, but never found a good use for them. I think I got rid of them, not worth fishing out. But I do have a scrap piece of 2x10, and I'm due for an oil change in the next few weeks. Perhaps I'll just drive up on one thickness on the passenger front tire and see if...

DIY Engine oil change and Manufacturer Warranty

2nd Gen CX-5 has under cladding. You can't see the Fumoto valve or drain plug until you remove a panel.

DIY Engine oil change and Manufacturer Warranty

There is no need to lift the CX5 to do an oil change.

DIY Engine oil change and Manufacturer Warranty

I don't use ramp, have Fumoto valve. Only tool needed is screw driver to pull the clips. Hardest part is disposing of oil filter, emptying, cleaning catch pan and funnel. I keep the records on Mazda's Owners site. Also usually send myself and email with the mileage and such.

What are your favorite aspects of your CX-5?

I guess user interfaces are subjective. I'm glad you are happy with it. Mazda seems to generally make great design decisions and has excellent engineering, so I will consider that it may be not to my taste, but may work for others. Do you have experience using other navigation interfaces...

What are your favorite aspects of your CX-5?

I still have the 2000 Acura, but had resorted to using a phone mounted on the windshield. My complaints about the Mazda are the interface. It is clunky, unresponsive, and non-intuitive. It shouldn't take more than 3 minutes to learn how to use. Shouldn't take more than two steps to navigate...

What are your favorite aspects of your CX-5?

The navigation is worse than my 2000 Acura was. Fortunately they added Android Auto retrofit for my 2018. Just wish it could integrate with the turn by turn arrows in the heads up display.
