Tried to do a stereo upgrade...

Bump! Yeah, put this in over decade ago and it's still working 100%. Pioneer AVH-3400 (w/ BT and HD radio), some entry level Kenwood 3-ways all 'round, and disconnected the stock tweeters. Nice to be able to tweak the radio's accent lighting to match the display overhead, and drop in a...

    1st Gen Mazda5 aging issues?

With another door handle failed, and half the brittle clips breaking when removing interior panels, I'm starting to wonder how many more surprise ageing issues are going to appear. It's a '07 but just 80k miles. Having tires, brakes, and shocks due over the next year, so anyore surprises might...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Thanks! After trying so many headlight restore kits that last 6-8 months, I think it's time to switch it up and use a clear coat!

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

@zedebra 2 years later, how is the Spraymax clear holding up? I'm thinking of doing the same.

    Mazda5 Stalling out when idling/stopped

+1 for a cleaner, especially if you've never done that before, Royal Purple has a 10,000 mile one. Regular stalling can the the MAF sensor is dirty, a very easy fix. It's easy to get to, remove, and just use a MAF Sensor cleaner spray you can get at any car store.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Luckily that was a mud track. In my 5 Google sent me down a very coarse gravel track, like 1" to 2" pieces. One of the stones popped up and got lodged between a rear pad and rotor and gouged the rotor bad enough to need replacing. I'll take mud any day!

    2007 Mazda5 Suspect MAF

TL;DR - Probably best to clean your MAF regularly, 10k/12 months. Pulled the MAF and it looked clean.. until I turned it around and saw the upstream side caked on crud (whatever gets through the intake filter?!). Grabbed a can of MAF cleaner and let rip until it was all cleaned off. Once it...

    2007 Mazda5 Suspect MAF

Simply, readings aren't 100% kosher: IAT is reading 20°F high, MAF is idle 2.3-2.5 which is quite high. I know the BCM *learns* the sensor and translates it to performance but those are notabley off numbers. What has me looking at the MAF? Idling during warm up is rough, dog rough, and if...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

On thing to consider is how *broke* it actually is. If the board itself is broken, a new case won't make a difference. If it blinks but doesn't open/close doors it's lost its ID. and a dealer *might* agree to reprogram that for you. Usually cars have to reprogram all keys and fobs at one time.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Thanks. That'd be a great LED upgrade for the weedy trunk light!

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Where did you find the deflectors? I've been thinking about getting some but found them hard to find. Have you noticed if they make more wind noise, or reduce the wind noise? . TIA!

    IamFODI's 2012 Mazda5 6MT: Intro, plans, questions and build

Yeah, I meant the PS 4 AS ! Thanks for all the feedback. As for quieter and longer lasting tire, that's what the Primacy AS was. The CrossClimate, I'm guessing was Michelin idea of a direct replacement.. but dropped the traction rating to B. *Shrugs* I think there's some PS4AS in my future!

    IamFODI's 2012 Mazda5 6MT: Intro, plans, questions and build

First, love the history your sharing. I'm picking up all sorts of info. I have a tire question as my Premier A/S are almost done, but not available in the same size any more. So I want to ask, how are your finding the Pilot Sport 4 and how they're holding up?

    Mazda5 Rear wiper spring tension?

Oh yeah! It's been bugging me a little bit the last few years that even with keeping the curved wiper inserts, the wipe just wasn't as good - especially at the ends. I'm a gonna do this fix this afternoon! Thanks @huesmann !

    New to the Mazda5 family

Hi there. 'nother 5 lover here. Late reply, but haven't stopped by in a while. Sounds wise the head unit's are quite good, mine was Alpine made, and the speaker wiring is good enough - stranded and tinned copper. Swapping out the sh1t stock speakers (oval, paper with a whizzer!) is must do...

    New to the Mazda5 Forum

You are living the dream!! Until family road trips and college runs are done, there's nothing to replace a 5... except a newer 5. The VA sun has been hard at wok on the roof on my 5 since 2007, but a trip to the bodyshop is 1/20th the price of anything close to a do-it-all replacement car...

    2008 Mazda5 Head Unit Died --> Android?

Do what you want but you've been warned already, and here's another: Don't go with crap no-brand Android head units. They are garbage and will drive you nuts. Stick with Alpine, Sony, JVC, Pioneer, Alpine.

Neutral safety switch help? 2007 Mazda3

I see your posting in the M5 forum and signature lists an M3. Before jumping in to replace the microcontroller that drives the dash selector display, I'd simply verify the signalling mechanism from the selector for something broken or out of alignment. All the more possible after someone has...
