Ryan, I know of a parts yard that might have an MSP trans in stock... I can give you their info if you're intersted but you'd have to have it shipped or drive me to Illinios to see my grandparent and we can pick it up... ;) My MSP is currently in won't start mode and the Cobra has a blown...

I wonder if this is why my car won't start... I might try to check it tomorrow night after work... it would be REAL nice if it is this easy...

I know of one dead one in Illinois... (I have the engine out of it in mine) and then mine in Austin... I am really starting to thinking about putting mine up for adoption this year...

I know it is a very hard choice... I can not afford 12 mpg as a daily driver in the Cobra and I have spent close to $6,000 on repairs and minor upgrades on the MSP since the middle of November and she doesn't leave me feeling too secure as a daily... this car is ready to be a balls out race...

I still love mine, but thinking about selling her... tough choice...

The MBSP had a hole blown in the side of it... as well as the one in the block... after over $5,000 in repairs since November I haven't done anything... also the clutch that had 2,500 miles on it when the engine blew was slipping BADLY after being moved to the new engine... my Exedy stage I...

So it looks like my car may have to come apart a fourth time in this really crappy three month period... may have residual oil on the clutch plate that had ~2,500 miles or so on it when the engine blew... I don't know it was cleaned and looked brand new but tech suspects maybe some absorbed...

Damn... total it, buy back, buy base model 3 sedan, engine swap... done... I've also seen a Mazda 5 with a MS3 swap in it... not in person some school did it... SWEET!!!

Do the coils just give out or do they "get bad and then die"?

Mine was opposite... LSD went out and $2,000 later she's back on the road for two months and then BAMMMM, the engine blew... $4,000 more and she's back on road... but only with a donor 71K mile MSP engine from 2003.5 MSP #1,482... price may be a little off, but included shipping...

Update: I had the Corksport bronze bushings in the freezer for two and a half days and took them to the shop this morning. They drove the car in and put it up the rack... the two front plastic bushings were COMPLETELY gone, vanished, poof... so that explains the shifter slop. 15 minutes...

There didn't seem to be a lot of options for aftermarkey wires for this engine... These are great for the price, there are two wires in the set. I think the "set" should go ahead and include two new replacement boots/springs for the COP packs too... I didn't realize there were only two actual...

Yeah I ordered only the large bushing for our cars... (Yours is in the box with the TS exhaust hangers) I didn't have enough left this week to order two sets of the Corksport bronze bushings buttttt you will at least get to see how they feel in my car in case you want to get them later... they...

I think that is the reason for the sadness... I got spoiled by reliability of the daily driver... my main problem with the no mods thing is that why would I spend $25 on a regular replacement part when I can get something better for $40, ya know? I am TRYING not to go overboard for sure...

Like I said, I don't think anyone would pay the asking price... I don't really want to sell it, but man I think I am about $6,000 into repairs/maintenance/upgrades in the last two months between this car and the Cobra... that would have made a NICE down payment on a SRT8 Magnum... hopefully...

I drove the car back to the shop tonight... the clutch almost feels like it is partially engaged even while starting the car... I got an email saying Corksport has mailed my bronze bushings... I figure that one feels kind of obvious so if I can knock the issues off one at a time all good...

Looks like the donor MSP was #1482... :(

I don't know how serious I am, but she's up for sale now... but not to worry I probably won't get the asking price... ;) I still want to get the Forge BPV from Ryan and see if I can't work a few of these kinks out before giving up completely!!! She's back, runs and drives with the 71K engine...
