    Bye Bye CX-5

Two days ago a car decided to turn in front of us while we were traveling about 45 mph. I had no time to do anything except get on the brakes for about 15 feet before we collided. The airbags deployed including the side curtain ones. The engine ended getting pushed into the firewall and the back...

    2014 CX5 Rear Shock part # Change - KYB

For KYB shocks they made a change after a certain production date. Disappointed in the lack of alternatives for our car.

    2014 CX5 Rear Shock part # Change - KYB

I've got a late build 2014 Touring CX-5 (11/13). Earlier builds in 2013 KYB list rear shock part #349219. For mine since it was a late build in 2013 they list part #3440013 as the correct part number. Anyone know what the change is? I was going to buy a set of the #3440013 on Rock Auto and I see...

Rear rotors groove on top. Looks Like factory design.

I just checked my rear brakes at 56K miles. The pads still have over 33% left. I did look at the rear rotors too and there is a groove or split in about a quarter of the outside edge of the rotor. At first I thought it was a defect however both rear rotors had the same exact groove. This would...

Small Oil leak for me too... :-(

I did a drain and fill (took 4 quarts) right at 50K miles. The 4 quarts I drained were a dark brown color. I'll do a second drain and fill when I hit 75K. The good news is it's almost as easy as changing your engine oil. Only extra steps for me were removing the air filter housing on top for...

skyactiv auto 6 drain and fill in Pacific NorthWest

I actually did the drain and fill on my CX-5 last weekend. It's simpler than an oil change. Take off your bottom shield. I then removed my air cleaner so I had easy access to the 10 mm bolt that holds the tranny dip stick on. From there get back under the car and there is a hex key drain plug...

Skyactiv 6 auto - flush or drain?

I ordered 6 quarts of the Mazda FZ from Amazon for $74 shipped. I'm planning on doing the drain and fill then end of the month when I hit 50K miles. I'll do it at the same time I change my oil, engine and cabin air filters then I should be good to go.

Anyone install a auto dimming mirror?

I bought an auto-dimming mirror on ebay for $100. Took about 20 minutes or so to put it on. Works great too.

    I need to change tires

I also bought Conti Tru contact tires from Tirerack. Having them installed at my local tire shop today. Will report on how they are. One of my oem Yokohama's blew out the other day. Wasn't repairable. With 27K on the car they were just under 6/32nds tread left so I decided to bite the bullet and...

    Continental True Contact Review

I've got the oem Toyo's and have had two patches put in one tire already. To date I'm not really impressed with them. Thanks for the review. I'll probably take a hard look at the Conti's when the time comes. Right now I'm at 26K.

When to change rear differential fluid?

I would first loosen the fill plug rather than the drain plug just in case the drain plug is stuck or you accidently strip it.
