Lol. My step father LOVES this dealership and will only have his car serviced there (1995 Miata w/ R Package). He’s a car fanatic and very picky (he used to do it all himself but less so in his 70’s). Sad you had such bad experience there.

The control wheel is actually quite intuitive. Scroll wheel, “cursor” moves (more of a “next icon gets selected” thing). I haven’t had to look down at the wheel after the first few times using it. Despite mean time between use, it’s simple enough to not miss a touch screen. Ever (IMO).

I finally got back after a week of traveling. Upon troubleshooting, I went with the nuclear option and deleted CarPlay. Once I reconnected after that, all issues went away.

Just a note for anyone about to update to iOS 16.4. Something in CarPlay changed and now you can NO LONGER have independent navigation voice volume and music volume (they are one and the same). Additionally, if you use the Mazda OEM radio or XM, the navigation voice will “focus” the OEM screen...

I’ve had my aliexpress ones affixed to the dead pedal spot with Velcro tape for over 3 years. Zero issues. Having said that, my Spyder mats cover the pedal, lol. I didn’t want to use the screws and the tape has really held rock solid.

I was lucky and had a pair of rhino ramps. Made it easier. Yeah, I did have some busted knuckles, but, I’d help someone do it again :)

I can also vouch for japanparts. Many of us replaced our rear headrests with the JDM versions and purchased them through that site.
