How can I tell if my CX-5 is set to the "Flexible schedule"? Is there a way to see the current setting in the system?

I haven't paid too much attention to the startup. However, it seems smoother when I start driving.

I also prefer the Mazda oil filters at the dealer. I know the Oil change places don't use the best filters.

Should I get the serpintine belt changed when the tensioner is being changed? The vehicle has 51, 700 miles on it. Should I use a Mazda belt or like a dayco belt?

I saw on RockAuto they have a Gates and ACDelco belt tensioner for $67 max.. I believe both of them provide lifetime warranty on the part. I was thinking of going with an AC Delco part.. Do you guys recommend using either brand?

No, haven't had a chance..

The one thing I noticed was that when I turn off the Cx-5 and lock it with the key fob, I see the security light flashing on the dashboard every few seconds. I imagine this must drain the battery somewhat overnight when it is parked. Also, during the day time when it is parked.

So I emailed Interstate battery support and they replied stating that the new battery should test at 550 CCA. They said it could be possibly defective and advised me to take it to an authorized interstate distributor in my area to get it tested. I'll probably take it to Advanced Auto parts...

They tested the battery the day they installed the sleeve which was on Saturday. Originally the battery was installed about two weeks back now..

I bought the OE heat shield from the dealer and took it to Walmart. They were able to install it around the Costco Interstate group 35 battery.
