    Recommend some 20" all-weather tires for my '07 CX-9

Keep it simple. If the car is three years old (or less) and has 50,000 miles or less, I'd keep the factory components intact. Break it down, use universal replacement parts, and the next thing you know, you may have issues such as leakage or a sensor not being read. When your new set wears out...

    New CX-9 Grand Touring/Tire Concerns

Of course there are "issues" with the speedo, if the laws of mathematics still apply. I did the calculations before the Parada came out in the OE size, the difference was like 3% lower than actual speed, it's the least amount of inaccuracy possible while using an off size. If you're doing 60...

New '07 CX-9 GT AWD Owner from Seattle

The Parada is an awesome tire, especially given the lack of selection in this size. Excuse my condor, but I wouldn't pay $10.50 for the Bridgestones, let alone $1,050. Plus, the Parada is a respectable all-season tire. Toyo makes a tire in the OE size as well, at least one member here is running...

    "Drone" on the highway

Thanks for the information. That tall first gear sure explains the terrible gas mileage in the city. I guess a Mazda is nothing if not zoom-zoom.

    Surging at constant speed

Ceric, I'm afraid keeping fingers crossed will not be good enough. Right around 30,000 miles (if the issue doesn't materialize before that) I think I'm going to get proactive and go in complaining about the issue so that it's put on paper, whether it's reproducible or not. Hopefully, Mazda will...

    Uneven iddle

Unless you know something we don't, this issue is spread across the board. It does not affect only a certain run of these vehicles, and Mazda has not changed the design or vendor of these throttle bodies effective a certain date or VIN, so it can hit any (or all) of us down the road even for a...

    "Drone" on the highway

Actually (and not to get into a spitting match with anyone) overdrive ratio is exactly 1:1, meaning for each turn of the driveshaft the drive wheels rotate one complete revolution. That being the case, if 5th and 6th are both OD, then why don't they each turn at the exact same rpm (5th obviously...

    2009 CX-9 NAV DVD Update

Very good advice, never rely on a dealer's word or just hope they will do the right thing. Put the promise in words right on the purchase order, so that you have legal recourse under breach of contract.

    "Drone" on the highway

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but the difference between fifth and sixth gear is an entire overdrive unit, and that could definitely account for the OP's drone. In any event, I would put my best guess into a driveline issue because a bearing would have the drone at lower speeds and continue to...

    Stalling Issue

I agree with Ceric's take on the matter. Does anybody know the list price of the throttle body and the labor time involved? This issue is cropping up more and more as our cars get more use. Undoubtedly, there will come a time when some owners will be faced with the issue out of warranty. It is...

    Stalling Issue

I believe these issues have nothing to do with the gas. Odds are the dreaded throttle body issue rears its ugly head once again. Mazda should really step up to the plate and issue the TSB (if not recall). Most dealers just scratch their ass and comment that that the car is not storing any hard...

    List known issue CX-9

As far as I know, the throttle body issue is not isolated to a certain range of cars (i.e. they have not started using a new throttle body as a running line change). Basically, any of us are prone to the problem, and possibly out of warranty. The drivetrain warranty gives us a little more...

    Access to Spare Tire Sucks

Actually, I'd prefer to go the steel wheel route. Is anybody aware of a steel wheel in 20" configuration that can be used with the CX-9? I'm inclined to say there isn't such an application. While back, I had a sly comment when Wakblak sold his OE set for $600 plus shipping, only to find out...

    Access to Spare Tire Sucks

Wife's away with the CX-9. When it gets back, I'll be deciding for myself if the full size tire /wheel is workable under there. IMHO, perhaps the only use for the p.o.s. donut is increasing crashworthiness, if that. I could care less if it looks "tacky". I'm a function vs. form type of person...

    Just wanted to say hello

I saw two units of CX-9 come off the truck July 3 in Baltimore, MD, one AWD Sport, and one GT AWD (no nav), both black. This was a very low volume Mazda dealership (combined Mercury/Mazda).

    Access to Spare Tire Sucks

Could you please elaborate? The spare tire/wheel should be the same diameter as the factory wheel/tire, so that shouldn't be the problem. Is the width of the full size tire/wheel the issue, and are you running the 18 or 20" wheels"? My Honda Pilot didn't have any problem storing a full size...

    Surging at constant speed

Bad throttle body, known frequent issue with Ford Edge, less frequent but still known issue with CX-9. God bless those Ford parts in our vehicles. Don't let the dealer BS you, open up a case with Mazda if you have to. Your first obstacle may be duplicating the issue to the stealer's...

    Leaking strut

My '08 CX-9 GT's front suspension has been hissing over bumps for the last six months, much more so over the last month. I took it in to the selling dealer (Heritage Mazda, Bel Air, MD) for this issue and to flash to TCM for the limp-mode condition on steep terrain. Even though they are a...

    No CX-9 in N.Y.C. Area

Bad timing is when I bought my 2008 CX-9 GT in April, 2008. I had to fight hard for six grand off the MSRP. Two months later folks were getting ten grand off the sticker with little or no resistance. It still bothers me on occasion.
