    FSZE Protege5 Track Build

Those trailing arm bolts are such a pain, the new arms look great! How much fuel did you have in when you weighed the car? Curious to see how close our cars are (yours is going to be waaay lighter :) ) Also curious to see how that manifold works out, you should gain some top end power but...

    FSZE Protege5 Track Build

Woohoo Updates! Good work on the bearings and brakes, that'll make a small but noticeable difference, especially reliability! Love that header too, good score! I wish manual transmissions were that easy to find here lol

Off Topic What are ya listening to?

Daaang, that is a lovely voice, and a lovely cover. I can see why it's so relaxing! I'm glad that the famous drum fill was kept in as well Lately I've been deep diving in to Drum and Bass mixes, nothing too bouncy or wild, but things with good vibes. UKF has a series showcasing artists in...

What have you done to your P5 today?

My blue car gets around the 23mpg mark, that's a 20 min commute every day, $60 per week My red car...... Probably around 20 mpg for just open road cruising, dropping to 10-15mpg if I take the back roads :D

    I wanna build my mp5

The Mazdaspeed MZR engine is quite large from memory, I don't think it'll physically fit in the P5 bay without cutting out the firewall. You'd need custom engine mounts and driveshafts at a bare minimum, plus the ECU and fuel systems to get it working. Then add a brake upgrade and suspension...

    LankyKiwi's Rally-flavored SP20

After a few weeks and a few drives, I think I can declare operation Seal-The-Sump a success! No leaks, no funny noises, no issues :D Right now it's a waiting game until our lockdown restrictions ease up and I can hit the junkyards again, can't wait!

What have you done to your P5 today?

Slow and steady wins the engine removal race! Definitely follow the manual steps for this, it's broken down nicely for us and the manual is pretty clear compared to others! Take LOTS of photos and grab a whole bunch of containers or bags for the fasteners, Label Everything! future you will...

Love my p5 but she’s got issues

Gidday! welcome along! Sounds like you've tackled some of the main trouble areas on these cars :D oil consumption and motor mounts are a right pain to get right I'd recommend starting a build log, even if you're not 'building' the car they're great for recording maintenance and repairs. Plus...

Dang now I'm second guessing :D my M8 x 1.25 die wouldn't thread on to a strut stud when I tried it about 2 years ago :P

Stripped tensioner bolt - powersteering belt

Because I stripped the same part yesterday, and broke the long bolt in three! The adjuster nut/ eyelet is M10 x 1.25 (Fine thread) , the long bolt is M8 x 1.25 (Course thread) The strut top nuts are M10 x 1.0 so won't work unfortunately Hope that helps!
