    Manufacturer Scheduled Maintenance

The theory I heard (don't blame me -- I'm just a messenger, I don't have strong opinion one way or another): the tires "settle" with regards to their place and rotation direction. Rotating "unsettles" them. For what it's worth... Even wear is also overrated. Firstly, if tires on one side wear...

    Manufacturer Scheduled Maintenance

IMHO, apart from changing oil and filters, there's nothing much done on those maintenance visits. Most of the items are "check", "inspect", "replace if necessary". But you're still getting charged for it :) Rotating tires? Some people swear by it, some say it's a waste of time. Lubricating...

How much did you pay for your Mazda2?

Another Spirited Green, eh? Very sweet deal. If only I could've waited a little more -- I knew they'd come down, but my old car was really letting itself go, so...

CX-7 Antenna is What You will Want

I've noticed quite a bit of reception loss with CS antenna. I live in central NJ -- no mountains really... There's a radio station which I used to listen to all the way from work to home with the stock antenna, but with CS antenna I have to switch half-way (I can hear it alright near my work...

Bought a MAZDA2 Yesterday (HELP Big Problems Already)

I understand that. However, I'd assume that a problem with build quality (defective part, faulty assembly procedure, improper adjustments, etc) should also be addressed at manufacture time (parts replaced, procedures altered, ...). Otherwise, what's the point in continuing doing the same and...

my fastest vid from this weekend

Nice! That's a pretty long course too. The camera angle is not great, IMHO (looking too much down, so you can only see a couple cones ahead).

Bought a MAZDA2 Yesterday (HELP Big Problems Already)

Very interesting. I wonder though -- if TSB is dated April 2011, does that mean that the vehicles manufactured after the date should not be subject to it? I had those squicks and creaks coming, if my memory doesn't fail me, from the front. But it was a while ago, a week or two after I bought...

    What tires should i get?

It's not _that_ much of a difference -- for 195/50, from the top of my head, it's something like 1%-1.5%, no more. For autox, the top speed is hardly ever a factor, and I doubt for the street use it's much of difference either.

    Suspension Torque Specs

Thanks, Joker2! So, that would assume one have to be a member with Mazda Motorsports?

    Suspension Torque Specs

Joker2, where did you get the shop manual? Just went to Mazda dealership and asked them to order one?

    UnZipHer Mazda2 Build Thread

Could you have them put on the car? I honestly not really thrilled by these wheels (sorry, no offence), but I think maybe I don't get something and maybe they look great against your red M2...

    What tires should i get?

Not just mass, but the radius/circumference of the tires. 195/50r15 would be 1.5 % smaller then stock, effectively giving you somewhat higher final drive compared to stock (shorter gears, better acceleration, lower top speed). Even more so with 195/45r15. Might be just what you want...

Is there any good reason to buy a Mazda2?

A question: do all of the Kia/Hyundai... have similar mods available (like, e.g. Corksport provides for M2)? I'm not saying they don't -- I just don't know. Honda probably does -- what about the rest of them? I understand that there're a lot of cars which have a lot more mods available for...

Is there any good reason to buy a Mazda2?

The only reason, IMHO, is: you like it (how it feels). It's underpowered, but handles well. Otherwise, if a person doesn't care about how it feels -- probably not. Econobox is econobox. Thousands drive boring econoboxes (to save money and gas), stupid SUVs (because they're "safer"), pickup...

First time driving the Mazda 2

If it was brand new with 10 miles on the odometer, something is to be said about engine not being broken in. Otherwise, I'd say, if you don't like it -- you don't like it. Nothing can change that, really.

Was the Mazda2 new (as in: test drive at the dealer)?

    Retrofitted Mazda 2

Why does everybody have an issue with "smiley face"? :) I mean: there are a lot of angry-faced (sad-faced, droopy-faced, etc) cars around. Only ours have a smiley one. Is there a problem with it? I don't think so :#

    mazda touring vs sport weight?

Seems like you already have the differences aligned in favor of Sport :) No, there's nothing significant. The leather-wrapped steering wheel, that's all. I don't think seats are any different, except for red piping. I personally care very much for cruise control (and a little bit for trip...
