Dang, I wish I could remember what my Integra GSR 1/8 times were, just as a comparison. Best time I ever got out of it in the 1/4 was 15.01 @ 92.xx MPH.

Depends on where it's going. I've always tacked on drain plug washers with other parts orders whenever I need them.

RockAuto has a box of 25 Dorman aluminum drain plug washers for the CX5 for a cool 7 dollars.

I guess I should say that I've only ever ordered the oil change kits, with Moly oil and Mazda filter, and they always come with a washer along with each filter. My point is that an aluminum drain plug washer is not a critical part by any means. It does not have to be original OEM Mazda for it...

There are other reviews of that product that show them being identical to OEM. I never have to bother with them since I use Mazda oil filters, which always include the washer.

Any aluminum washer that fits over the M14 drain bolt will work just fine.

dang Klasse is old school! I still have a bottle of HGSG and AIO sealant. But that's old-school tech. Newer coatings and sealants look and perform better. My bottles are probably 17+ years old, not sure if still any good or not.

Why do you think this is the case? Normal operating temp for engine oil is in the 230 to 250°F range. Would ambient temps ~20° higher there than in my area (110's vs. 90's here) make that much difference in oil life? I doubt that air temps would really change engine oil operating temperature...

Changed the OCV on Saturday, and the car has been driven several times since then. I just checked and no sign whatsoever of any oil leaks anywhere! 🙌

Yes but they’re only 5 months old and still looked in great shape. The valve cover gasket even came off cleanly with no sealant residue on it. I only had to clean the traces of old sealant off the 4 points on the cylinder head, which was very easy with a scraper and a brass brush.
