What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Looks like my local Mazda Dealership (Toronto, Canada) that I frequent has started "recommending" an AWD service (rear differential and power transfer unit fluids drain and fill) at 48,000 km. FYI on what this dealership service dept is charging in CAD: Rear Diff & Transfer Case Drain and...

2.5T Cracked Cylinder Head/Leaking Coolant Report to the NHTSA

Well at least it was covered under your current powertrain warranty and hopefully the updated parts do not have the issue going forward!

    Thinking about buying a CX-9 - Should I not?

I know of one Reddit post of a 2021 CX9 (approximately 35k miles) with this issue. This could be a one off though. I don't want to scare you into not buying one, I just want you to have all of the facts before you make a decision. I believe for the money, this is by far the best 3-row out there.

2022~2023 CX-9s with Cracked Cylinder Heads?

There is one case that I came across on Reddit of a 2021 CX9. I have a '22 with no issues, but only 31,000 miles. Only thing I noticed is that minuscule leak at the oil control valve.

    Thinking about buying a CX-9 - Should I not?

You mention rebuilt; do you know work was exactly done? If the cylinder head wasn't rebuilt according to the TSB, some think it's not a question of if, but a question of when it will crack.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Yea I saw that. I hate creating waste if I can avoid it, but it's still too much of a hassle for most people.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

I'm due for a replacement too. Mazda OEM in Canada looks to be like you said, ~$40 CAD. I see Amazon has a 3-pack (not OEM) for $28, but Amazon is so hit and miss. The K&N runs $45 USD, but since it's washable, could save a few bucks in the long run. I'll have to try to do more digging.

Thoughts on K&N cabin filter? Anyone else know/hear anything about them?

2016~2023 CX-9 Rear diff failure at 113k kms (70k mi)

Oddly enough, last time I was at my dealership (42,000 km), they actually recommended an ATF drain/fill.

2016~2023 CX-9 Rear diff failure at 113k kms (70k mi)

Oh man. Sorry about the car. This from probably one of the most meticulous owners on the forum (what I perceive anyways, not that I know too many here lol). Now I'm gonna make sure to keep on top of my fluids, I'm at ~46,000 km.

    2016~2023 Improving/maximizing fuel economy

Are you reporting round trip numbers there? And don't forget, Peg to Cowtown is an elevation change of almost 3000 ft (just not sure how steep, if at all, any of the stretches of that is since I've never driven it). Best I've ever recorded is 25 mpg @ 90 km/h on cruise for a stretch of 550 km...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

At least they came to their senses and dropped their horrible CVT or was that just their hybrid?

What km did you do the transfer case and rear diff or is this your first?

2021 CX-9 Carbon doesn’t have the ability to roll down all windows?

Ahh sorry lol. Like others have said, it's not the most useful function. In the 2 years of having this vehicle, I may have used it 5 times. And they didn't give us a way to roll it back up with the fob!

2021 CX-9 Carbon doesn’t have the ability to roll down all windows?

It works on my 22 CX-9 GT. It's unlock, unlock, unlock, unlock + hold until the windows roll down (must hold until the windows are fully down, or to the desired position). Edit: for additional clarity

    Mike's 2018 CX-9 Signature

Oh man. The vibrations! I hope the parts availability has recovered from COVID days. I had to wait 8 months for my cylinder head on my 18 CX5.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Ugh. So painful to see. I agree it's very annoying for everyone involved. Just the sheer amount of idiot drivers I see on the roads today is concerning. I wonder if this is the case in all parts of Canada/the world (not just the GTA; for you Canadians out here). The worst of it: you can be the...

Considering a 2021-2023 CX-9 CE or Better - Please Advise

Interesting. I didn't know they made a non-AWD CE? Only thing I can think of off the top is if you want to go for a peace of mind, I would look at 22 or 23. 21's are still caught in the oil consumption issue. Edit: spelling
