Rough estimate on a lift gate repair? 2010 CX-9

I have a power lift gate and they work well. The operation is very smooth.

Heater blowing cold air in front but back is fine (2017 CX-9)

If you are getting full heat in the rear within a reasonable amount of time after starting then I suspect it's the 'blend' door on the front heating/cooling system. There are small actuators that move the door(s) according to the settings on the controls. If one is stuck, or just acting up a...

Rough estimate on a lift gate repair? 2010 CX-9

After following this thread I took the advice of the folks here and swapped out my struts since the power lift disguises potential issues in that you never feel the lift gate travel yourself. I took a chance and purchased these: https://a.co/ei42Hhk I notice that the gate opens more fully...

Rough estimate on a lift gate repair? 2010 CX-9

Glad it worked out as well as it did. New struts to help the motor out can't hurt. After reading all this I've ordered a set for my '12 as I expect it could not hurt after all these years.

Rough estimate on a lift gate repair? 2010 CX-9

It would appear from that last pic the the motor is at the bottom and it turns that shaft (screw) to move the carrier up and down. Given that you may have to replace it there's no harm in removing the unit and attempting to separate the motor from the shaft. Once that's done you can verify that...

Rough estimate on a lift gate repair? 2010 CX-9

Try to disconnect the motor from the mechanism and you should be able to manually turn the gear then. EDIT - if you do get it back down and reconnected there may be a re-learn process for the motor to differentiate open and closed like there is on most auto-up/down windows. On those you open...

Retaining camera on 2010 CX-9 with 4.3" Bose screen?

Same here with the new HU showing a better image with the OEM camera than the original Bose system. I had heard that the tsunami that hit Japan back when my 2012 was made caused some quick production changes and resulted in the lesser quality camera being used. My OEM system didn't even have the...

Retaining camera on 2010 CX-9 with 4.3" Bose screen?

Brilliant. I may relocate mine based on that update. Appreciate the additional information.

Retaining camera on 2010 CX-9 with 4.3" Bose screen?

For what it's worth... I did an replacement of my OEM Bose/Nav unit a while back with a kit from Crutchfield. It was a BOSS HU and all the associated harnesses needed to retain the BU camera and the steering wheel controls. I posted somewhere in another thread about it. The one thing I could...

2007~2015 CX-9 Water pump problem. Possible engine damage?

If it is OK now and you do drive it that may finish it off. A 'few miles' on an engine that basically has no lubrication will kill it.

2007~2015 CX-9 No Heat Driver Side Only

I cannot comment on the doors given your situation but it certainly sounds like an actuator problem somewhere in the system. The heater core does not have sides for driver and passenger, it's just one unit and the airflow directed across the core determines where the heat goes.

    CX-9 Rear wheel alignment problem

The one on the left looks like the cam bolt that needs to be loosened to do the adjustment. It can be changed if needed to perform the job. Whenever I am planning on an alignment on any of my vehicles I start soaking those cam bots with PB Blaster for about a week or two before bringing the...

2007~2015 Aftermarket head unit in CX-9 Bose system

All the work was in the dash and placing the mic under the steering wheel. I put the mic there to keep it out of any potential wind, from either the windows or the A/C vents. It works just fine and I am very happy with the results. I added an additional wireless adapter after that install and...

2007~2015 Aftermarket head unit in CX-9 Bose system

I did put in a Crutchfield BOSS unit on my 2012 GT with Bose and it works perfectly. I retained my steering wheel controls as we as the OEM rear camera. In fact, the back-up camera has better resolution now than the original unit. The install was relatively straight forward and Crutchfield...

    Would you buy a 2015 CX-9 with 175k+ miles?

If you can find a mobile mechanic in that area you may be able to hire them for a PPI. I would not trust the seller to do anything with regard to a PPI unless they are willing to offer a 1 year warranty, in writing. That does sound like an insanely high price given the miles but I guess the...

2016~2023 Dealer Service Recommendation: Fuel Injector Service?

Buy 'top-tier' gasoline and that should be all you need. If you like throw in a Techron once in a while, it cannot hurt. I use Valero locally here for most of my fill-ups and have had zero issues with the quality of their gas. It's a good brand and the price is right compared to Shell around...

2016~2023 Dealer Service Recommendation: Fuel Injector Service?

The only way to remove the carbon on the valves in a direct injection engine is to remove the intake manifold. Anything else is snake oil. The carbon is not on the injectors, it's on the back of the valves because they don't get 'washed' by the fuel any longer. Also, it typically takes up to...

Should I replace these engine mounts?

It's a bit of a surprise that the shop cannot source the part from whomever they use. If they want you to supply the parts I would still suggest rockauto to get the mount(s).

Should I replace these engine mounts?

Are you buying the part for the shop or for DIY? If the shop is doing the work I'd let them order the part and stay out of the loop. If it's a DIY situation I find that rockauto is more accurate than most other sites.

    Skipping Wipers

I cannot say for sure how to remedy this on a Mazda; but on a past vehicle I owned I had the same problem. It was due to the 'angle of attack' of the wipers and the arms had to be bent to change that. It was done under warranty so I'm not sure if the angle was increased or decreased in order to...
