Throttle response is improved slightly. I do think the stock tubing/airbox is pretty restrictive. All in all, the biggest change you'll notice is in sound. That being said, go for the Ebay "Bomz" style intake. It's much cheaper, and I'm positive you'll get the same performance out of it...

Aren't you supposed to remove the stock resonator/plumbing that leads to the stock filter box? From your pic, it looks as if you left it on. Maybe that's why it's so quiet.
