I was just reading about this as well. This "direct connect" adapter can be purchased separately to wire directly into the FM behind the bezel. A poster on another forum has the nav system and was successful with this...

Thanks. The Mazdaspeed Protege came stock with 215/45... and I have the MSP wheels on my P5 now. Looks great, not too tall, and no fender gap. I just don't know if the Mazda 6 stock rims fit the same... because I know the offset is higher.

I'm trying to see whether Mazda 6 wheels will fit on the P5 with 215/45/17 tires. I've seen members with 215/40/17's. Anyone know whether this combo works? Does the 60 offset cause a problem? I read through Rischie's guide, but I'm not finding an answer. Thanks in advance, Shaun

Actually, I sold them to a board member called Zumi. He had the fitment issues worked out and he posted pictures, so do a search. I've had MSP rims on the P5 for over a year and a half.
