Just got back from the shop. The mechanic thinks something (like my earlier guess of a rock) flew up and hit the engine, which knocked a rod loose that then shot through. This sounds extremely unlikely to me, but the bottom line is that there's a nice round hole in the engine block. The...

I'm the second owner of the car, so I can't vouch for what happened to it before I owned it. Like I said earlier, max boost was set at 7psi and there's no reason to think the boost gauge reads wrong and I was going through second gear when it happened.

I'm heading out to the dealership where the car currently is to get their story, so hopefully I'll be able to better answer that come tonight

Still not sure of the cause. I was running 7psi and going through second gear when it blew.
