    2003.5 Yellow MSP Pics

Probably to keep costs down. They dropped the fog lights, and replaced the nice sparco stuff with generic-looking mazdaspeed parts.

MSP owner...time to post your pic!!!!

Nice pics. I love that 2nd one, the paint is really shining gold in that sunlight! Is that what it looks like in person?

First Mazdaspeed in the Midwest (Maybe)

Um, it's basically the tires that determine a vehicle's level of traction in the snow, weight and drivetrain aside. My Saturn was terrible in the snow on the stock tires, but a set of Michelin Arctic Alpins in a proper size (tall and narrow) completely changed that. I have traction galore in...

    Cool, then. :)

Heel/toe in the MSP? Maybe MP3?

Sorry if there was a specific thread about this already. I was not asking about heel/toe itself as I'm quite familiar with it, but its application in the MSP. Since folks only very recently began to receive their MSP's, I'm surprised there has already been a thread about this.

Heel/toe in the MSP? Maybe MP3?

Hmm, it's always been my understanding that double clutching is a complete shift to neutral from whichever gear you're in, blipping the throttle and then a second shift from neutral to the lower gear. I thought it was done mainly in older cars, to protect the trannies/clutch assemblies. I...

Heel/toe in the MSP? Maybe MP3?

dpmmsp, I have fairly big feet myself. (13) So hopefully I'll also find the pedals good for heel/toe...

Heel/toe in the MSP? Maybe MP3?

Heel/toe works like this: "The goal is to downshift without upsetting the balance of the car. ie. matching revs while downshifting. This requires you to 1) Brake 2) Blip the throttle to match the revs of the engine so that when you are in the lower gear that the rpms are appropriate for that...

Heel/toe in the MSP? Maybe MP3?

Hmm. Perhaps things are different with the sparco pedals on the MSP?

Heel/toe in the MSP? Maybe MP3?

Here's a question for those lucky enough to already have their MSP's, and maybe MP3 owners if the pedal setup is the same: How are the pedals for heel/toe downshifting? Are the brake and gas close together? Are the pedal heights agreeable? Ok, maybe more than "a question"...

    Finally got it

I use Armorall Low-gloss, and it works well. I hate their regular stuff, it's way to glossy/greasy. I armorall once a year, and the rest of the time I just wipe the interior plastics with a damp cloth. For leather, such as the steering wheel or shift knob, I use a leather and vinyl cleaner...

    Finally got it

RainX? Is this the same RainX that is applied to the windshield(s)? I use that stuff, and it works great. Rain water sheets off faster than it can fall, and the wipers barely have to do any work. Excellent, although it does need re-applying every couple months. It also works well in the...

is the msp lower than the mp3?

According to Edmunds.com, the MP3 is .2" lower than the MSP. MSP is 55.5", MP3 is 55.3" http://www.edmunds.com/used/2001/mazda/protege/4drmp3sedan/specs.html?id=lin0066 http://www.edmunds.com/new/2003/mazda/mazdaspeedprotege/4drsedan20l4cylturbo5m/specs.html?id=lin0018 Not sure if those...

MSP owner...time to post your pic!!!!

Limited, it's probably an issue of compromise, and vehicle weight. Lexus is a luxury car, so even a performance model has to drive very smooth, which can make having a stiff suspension somewhat difficult. I'm not sure of the actual weight of the Lexus, but I'm sure it's probably low to mid...

    Finally got it

Clay bar and Meguiars gold class wax is a good combination. I've used Meguiars' 3-step cleaner/polish/wax, it works well but is very time consuming. Only about $25 for all three, though.

    Auto X Canada

You bet there is. www.wscc.mb.ca I'm sure there are several clubs in your area that run events, but I don't know any of the sites off the top of my head. Do a search.

    AutoX Tires

He means two years of autox and summer daily driving. Oh wait, you're in Texas. You guys get snow down there? :) I've known r-compounds (kumho victoracers) to last 2 seasons of autox, so I don't see why the azenis wouldn't last that AND street driving...
