Where does this part go ?

Is it rubber or foam? Looks like one of the pieces that go on the plastic cowl under the hood near the wipers. Either to help seal or just reduce rattling.

Awd cx-5 Need help tire blown, 30k on tires. 1 new oem w/tire shredding or 4 cheepie?

Just because you can get 60-65k expected miles on a tire does not necessarily make it a good tire. I would rather sacrifice tread life for better handling aspects. In the case of the CX-5, better all season control is do-able as well.

Best aftermarket Remote Start for CX-5

For the standard key system, it looks like they aren't currently working on a data solution, so whatever system you would want would have to be hardwired in. For a remote start to function it would require the loss of a key unfortunately. There is a chance that it might use the same tech from...

Awd cx-5 Need help tire blown, 30k on tires. 1 new oem w/tire shredding or 4 cheepie?

Prices are steep for sure. I've been pricing tires just for future reference for when the time comes. If you wanted to keep with the OE tires (not sure why . . . overpriced and mediocre at best) they are less than $1100 on tire rack for the 19". Even throwing in installation, that quoted...

Best aftermarket Remote Start for CX-5

The ADS unit http://www.idatalink.com is only the data/transponder bypass module. That unit communicates between the car and whatever remote start/alarm you decide to use. You can control the rear defroster and heated seats with an aftermarket one, but the AC controls are not temp sensitive...

Best aftermarket Remote Start for CX-5

Superwario - I answered part of your question in your other thread. (in regards to the factory remote not working while remotely started) As for your other issues: Key Takeover - The only company that has a data solution for the CX-5 is ADS. In their first solution, you could allow key...

Advanced Key Doesn't Work When Remote Start (Aftermarket) is Activated?

Standard operation. If you start your car normally the remotes also will not work. (as well as the door handles) I do automotive electrical work for a living and there currently isn't a work around. (It's a pet peeve of my wife as well. Hates having to fish the remotes out of her purse after...

Need advice - planning to buy a new CX-5

Most of my gripes are minor involving the interior. I guess coming out of a lot of German cars over the years you start to get used to some of their nice conveniences. No rear air vents is kind of annoying. Obviously takes longer for rear occupants to get cool. Also no glove box light is...

Remote starter with Keyless entry? Do they exist?

If you have the smart key system, ADS makes a module that handles all of those features. It also allows the factory remote/fob to control an aftermarket alarm system so you wouldn't have to carry additional remotes.

    Remote start door shutoff bypass?

Most factory remote starts do this even on standard key cars. In many cases there isn't much you can do about it. It's more a liability thing than a security/anti-theft issue. Some aftermarket units do allow for key takeover though. Have it wired that way on my wife's cx-5.

Remote starter with Keyless entry? Do they exist?

DEI makes a kit that is compatable to any aftermarket keyless, alarm, or remote start system. It works similar to a factory setup but not as seamlessly. You carry a small fob on you and the car will unlock when you are in range. I probably wouldn't recommmend it on a car that already has an...
