The mufflers are basically the same. All are 3" inlet. All will have the same performance & probably the same sound. You're basically paying for the HKS name with the "real" carbon-Ti. I think it looks the best though. Both the replica & HKS have real carbon fiber shells & real titanium tips...

Empeefive, stock WRXs are not as fast as you think. They lose a lot of power at the wheels. From a roll, it should be easy for a turbo P5 to beat one. Just last night, two of my friends raced for fun. '04 WRX vs '95 Integra GSR w/ gutted cat only (118,000 miles). The GSR pulled the WRX good.

Couple of things I forgot to add. The exhaust will be full 304 stainless steel. Mine is mostly painted mild steel. The production exhaust will look much nicer. :) It also comes with a MIL eliminator (have had mine on for over 500 miles now, no CEL).

No, I'm not sure where that picture came from or what downpipe it is. The Billet Design system has no cats. Even if there were a high-flow cat, you wouldn't pass emissions. It's actually a "downpipe-back" system. There are no cats. :) In the future, Billet Design may make a 3" downpipe that...

Maybe this will help. Stock exhaust is pictured on the bottom. This exhaust system I have starts from the 2-bolt flange on the downpipe (seperate from the cat assembly).

Black Majik, I'm pretty sure Reuben's last (best) run was 13.9 @ 103mph or so. He has Hondata, Intake, Race Header, Full exhaust, V-AFC, etc right? If you look at our 1/4 mile list, ARuno trapped 103.5mph with intake & 2.5" downpipe @ 10psi. That would be a very close race from almost any mph...

In stock form, the cat assembly is seperate from the downpipe. However, fabricators usually combine the two as one piece.

This product bolts up to the stock downpipe (not the elbow off the turbo). You can't fit a pipe on that elbow bigger than ~2.25" because of the bolt studs. Any 3" downpipe you see for sale that bolts up to that elbow has a ~3/4" flare. Replacing the downpipe itself will yield minimal gains.
