Hypertech - Mazda 2 Tuning Chip - Product Request Form - PLEASE FILL OUT!

Well, certainly Mazdaspeed is turbo, while M2 is not, so I wouldn't expect the same type of gains. Otherwise -- let's wait and see.

Hypertech - Mazda 2 Tuning Chip - Product Request Form - PLEASE FILL OUT!

It's interesting and all, but the real question is: what parameters could they change and is it worth it? Of course, it's probably too early to ask, since they haven't even looked into the thing yet...

Mazda2 gas mileage and defrost problem

Well, how about cars which don't have AC? :) Yes, A/C certainly helps by drying out air, and in certain situations it's needed, but not always.

Mazda2 gas mileage and defrost problem

Look, firstly half a tank judging just by the fuel gauge might not be exactly half a tank. Like already said, filling it up with E flashing usually is about 8 gallons. If half a tank is half of that -- say, about 4.5 gallons -- 140/4.5 ~= 31 mpg (not spectacular, but it's a new car, so...) And...

PAX 1 is cool! Which fast cars did you beat as a result?

    Mazda 2 idling problem

My old Maxima -- I used to clean throttle body (all those electromagnetic valves, etc) with carb cleaner about once a year. Helped a lot. The injector cleaner wouldn't do it, because injector cleaner is about cleaning injectors and the fuel system, and in this case it could be the air delivery...

    auto down feature

The driver's manual has a paragraph on this actually (why this could happen, and how to restore it): NOTE If the battery was disconnected during vehicle maintenance, or for other reasons such as a switch continues to be operated after the window is fully open/close, the window will not fully...

    My steering wheel isn't straight.

I'd also steer clear of that dealership service department, while letting them know the reason.

    Tire rotation pattern?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that rear cross is to be used on RWD vehicles, while forward cross pattern is for FWD. However, I never saw any justification for that, and I don't really believe that it matters that much.

Well, jack and stands could cause damage just as well if you're not careful...

    I Am An ABSOLUTE MORON.

Sorry to hear. I wonder what exactly happened though. I was thinking of doing something with the ramps myself, but now I'm wary (never used ramps, always jack and stands...)

Getting a Mazda 2 this weekend, looking for last minute advice

I'd say buy manual, unless something prevents you from it. Like me: I'd buy manual, except I had plans on other family members driving it, and they're not thrilled with stick shift. Therefore, automatic. It's OK, although AT is pretty ancient (4 speed). Still better than some of those CVTs out...

    2013 Mazda 2?

I thought they already have SkyActiv Demio in Japan. 1.3, 63 kW (~85hp) -- would be hard sell in the US.

Mazda 2 from Can - ON

And you have these nice hood deflectors in CA, which somehow aren't available in the US.

    Racing Beat vs H&R springs

+1 For me, the need to cut bump stops means that the rates aren't right.

    Weird Sound with A/C

The belt slipping? A/C typically has an electromagnetic clutch which engages its pump when the A/C is on (and when it decides it's time to do some cooling). When you switch A/C off, the clutch is disengaged (less load), the belt is not slipping and it's all quiet. Maybe the belt is worn, not...

    Help Diagnose Possible Electrical Problem

Just to make sure -- it's the driver's air bag light, not the passenger's? (I can trigger the passenger light by simply putting my arm onto passenger seat).
