yeah i ended up ordering ARP studs I just didnt really want the stock ones as they stretch but some how Mazda said the stock bolt were much more than the ARP head bolts..anyway thanks man.

Anyone know some head bolts that i can get for my MSP i dont need anything race inspired.

Now I'm sure I could look through the forum and find a thread on what engine works with the MSP but I don't have the time to do that right now. Can anyone tell me which engine will work with the MSP with the least amount of hassle. Thank you.

does anyone know if you can buy the clamp to hold down the drive shaft boot? I had to cut it off...

We pulled the drive axle off and pushed the tranny apart from the base plate exposing the bolts...took them off and looks like there is no damage to the crank and no spun bearings from what we can see the rods look good...however we see something odd about cylinder #4 we're going to be pulling...

Oh nice well i'll see if i can get the plate off first to see if the crank has indeed been scored and too make sure the internals are all okay. thanks

yeah the secondary piece with the return fitting on it seems to be bolted on through the transmission housing so it looks like the pan and the tranny housing need to be seperated to expose the bolts...of course it can be simple appreciate the response.

Im trying to remove the oil pan on my 03 MSP to get to the crankshaft and there is a piece connected to the transmission that sits between the oil pan and where the crank an other engine components sit...can anyone tell me how to remove (not the pan itself) the piece sitting in between the pan...

Oh yeah I'm sure it is but lucky my father knows what he's doing...I'll just keep my fingers crossed in hopes the crank is unscathed.(doubt it)

If the crank is scored can I just replace the crank?

Yeah I mean I have the day off tommorow I may be calling this goon up. Now if the crank is scored can you just replace the crank? I'm not driving it back there with this rod knock..although I'm still going to see if he will be willing to fix it.. thank you for your help.

Yeah I should take it back and tell him to fix it... I have another question when I am driving in any gear just cruising and I let even slightly off the gas the car jerks or bucks. I've read online that it could be the TPS but I did a ecu scan and it only came up with P0507 Idle Air Control...
