EMS to avoid dreaded winter fuel cut-off

A DSM-AFC cured my car of fuel cut (which I was hitting at stock boost on cold days).

Any updates? The CS website says the kit will be available in May 2006. Just sitting here waiting patiently.....

    madzaspeed upgrades

Well, we're just going to have to disagree on that one. To me a "performance mod" is something that will make your car get around the track faster whether it's higher horsepower, better handling, or better brakes. The dumb 'ole factory BPV is fine for safe-ish boost levels on a non-forged...

    madzaspeed upgrades

A BOV is not a performance mod. IMHO, the best bang for the buck for highest whp/$ seems to be: - DSM AFC ($310, www.airflowlogistics.com) - SMIC ($485, CustomMSP) - Apex 2.5" Catless Downpipe ($299, www.apexr1.com) - Boost Guage (endless options) - Manual Boost Controller set no higher than...

    Oil Pressure Gauge-Never again

I cut the post while it was on the car. It's a pretty tight fit, but it's doable. It took the better part of an hour and 10 heavy duty cut-disks which tend to self-destruct if not exactly at 90 degrees to the surface being cut. If I were to do it again, I'd probably pull it off the car and...

    Oil Pressure Gauge-Never again

Many people have had that type of setup break off due to the immense weight of the oil pressure sender. A block adapter is a whole different type of setup.

    Oil Pressure Gauge-Never again

I used the ebay block adapter, but I had to cut off about 3/4" worth of threads coming off the post on the engine block. Dremel to the rescue.

    Corksport FMIC

If this kit has aluminum piping (as per the link) and will allow for a will allow for the installation of a performance radiator (no piping through the SMIC hole) for < $800, then count me in.

    oil pressure install help??

Yeah, you cut the bolt that the oil filter screws onto. You need to cut about 1/2" off of it. I used a dremel with a cut off wheel. The only difficult part is the small amount of space to work in, but it's not too bad. The bronze bolt in the pic then screws onto the factory post holding the...

    Pilot Fog Lights

I picked up some of those Pilots off of eBay for under $30. I've also seen them on www.cardomain.com for around $60. I've yet to install them.

How accurate is your boost guage??

Don't forget that many users of AM mechanical guages (boost or boost/vacuum in particular) will use the POS plastic capillary tubing when installing them. Installing them with teflon-taped barbed fittings and using proper vacuum hose with no kinks and as short of a run as possible to the...

How accurate is your boost guage??

BTW, I've used Autometer guages in my '93 RX-7 (boost/vac, water temp, a/f) and in my MSP (boost/vac, oil pressure). I've never had a problem and they were always accurate when compared to additional readings. The people who claim Autometer guages are total crap, inaccurate, etc... are usually...

    Rear Sway Bar Bracket Poll

I'd buy if you're talking under the $200 mark shipped with everything needed to install (poly bushings, bolts, etc.), not approaching it from "above" it.

    200whp+ safely

Seconded. Using student loan funds to pay for mods = not a very smart idea. Your parents are right. It took me 2+ years to dig out of stupid, stupid, stupid student loan and CC debt that I racked up in college that could have been avoided altogether. Get a part-time job for mod money and...

    tired of CEL

"Bone Stock" MSP's do not boost 10-12psi... You've either got a boost controller installed (not "bone stock") or something else is wrong.

    tired of CEL

The code was pulled (lean code). And, you can get codes pulled for free at the local Autozone or whatever. It's probably the O2 sensor as it is the sensor that reads lean/rich from the exhaust flow. There's always the possibility it could be something else, though. With those miles and...

    tired of CEL

Lean code very often means you need a new O2 sensor. Change the sensor and reset the ECU, should take care of the CEL.
