Is it at all possible to fit (squeeze) a full-size, or close enough spare tire in the stock space? And if so... any chance the snazzy subwoofer could still fit?
Blew a tire last weekend (prob another !@#$ tire thread here soon) last weekend, got me thinking about it. When I swapped on the...
For the record, I just replaced the OE ones at 63,000 miles and 5.5 years of use.
They worked fine, I just wanted something brighter.
after much reading, it seems 90% of the complaints are from Silverstars or other ultra-bright lights.
It's just physics.
Bulbs replaced.
Definitely whiter/clearer now.
A q for those of you who have done this 40 times now...
is there a quick way to drop/remove the wiper fuild fill tube to get it out of the way of the pass side bulb access?
There were moments when I was seriously considering calling my 4 y/o in to...
Ok so aparently I'm an idiot
No - don't like the color and don't want to be replacing them in 3 months. Waste of $$.
Eventually, maybe - but only if there is a complete lens replacement kit, no halfassed illegal halogen bulb replacement crap.
So... I decided to upgrade my headlight bulbs (low beams). After reading all the complaints about the Silverstars burning out quickly, decided to get a pair of Xtravisions instead... plus only $20 for a pair.
Seem to have some confusion though - I have a package of 2, "H7XV/2" in the corner. On...
Interesting...
my '03 P5 has 63,000 miles on it.
I bought it at 27,500.
AFAIK, original bulbs.
That said, I'm upgrading to Xtravisions tonight, tired of the crappy coverage.
you know, the OTHER option whould be to drive it up on ramps, then jack up the rear, via the center track bar, making a tripod. Only need 2 ramps and 1 jack that way. better to put some stands under the rear though...
So I guess the important part here is - the car was level, not slanted? And was this level relative to earth, not the ground?
I'm kind of curious what the change interval is supposed to be. I was quite surprised to find that my owners manual ('03) dosn't have it listed anywhere in the...
I took off my airbox and resonator to fish out a tiniy wrench I dropped into it (sick). That's another story.
For reference, '03 P5 manual tranny.
WTF is this thing? See link below... right in the center. It's a really dense rubber block of some kind bolted to the top left (as facing engine) of...
Sp, um, does thsi mean your light at night is even crappier now? Their pretty lousy to begin with.
When "cosmetic" changes begin to impair practical things, that just dosn't make sense to me...?
My suspicion is that the difference is related less to the actual tire size, and more the general design quality of the tire.
The tire size change from 195 50 to 205 55 is only 5%; honestly at 30 mpg you're only talking netting 1.5 mpg at best. However you've also incresed the contact patch on...
My car threw OBDII code P0442, evap leak. Checked and, low and behold, gas cap not on tight. Easy enough... although been 175 mi since the fillup?
Anyhow, is there any way to clear the code or get it to reset, w/o having to pull the neg battery cable? Paperclip jumper maybe?
I'd like to avoid...
$8500 to replace an engine?
That's insane.
Did they give you an automized estimate?> I'm REALLY curious about it.
Maybe it'll be gold-plated with platinum rods...
You could install just about ANY motor, NEW, into ANY car for less than that. And I don't mean the same car, like you could get a...
If it's just typical hail damage (e.g., random dimples on hood and roof), and everything else is fine, I'm not understanding why it has a salvaged title.... repairing that kind of damage should not exceeed the vehicle's value, or even half of it...?
Alot actually. The hard part is finidng an easy bolt-on direct swap that is a substantial decrease. Many mazda trannies but not so many that can be easily swapped AND are a substantial drop (e.g. 8+%).
Mathematically, one from an RF-series Turbo Diesel motor would be best, same tranny but...
^^ It's about the philosophy, and long-term effect. Not for you to justify the impact of just one car.
This is a public forum read by thousands of people. Plus there are literally millions of other people that modify their cars not just in the US but worldwide. If all those people adopt that...
You really should run a cat. It is there for a reason. Not to rob you or anybody else of power, but *for the sake of decreasing harmfull emissions*.
If you think you do not need to care about polluting the environment, fine. By the same token, I hoep you don't mind if I come dump my used motor...
