They make the engine bay larger to make room for the exhaust manifold. Without this type of manifold our skyactive engines would be knocking. Or they would have to lower the compression ratio, which would mean lower performance and gas milage.

I've always used a small bolt in the extra hole that is on the rotor. Some rotors have two which is even better. Usually about a 10mm bolt will go in there. Then i tighten slowly. I will hear some popping then the rotor always comes off without hitting it.

In heavy rain your car can hydroplane. With speed control engaged when this happen it could try to accelerate during this period resulting in a spin out.
