Anyone go larger on stock rims?

EPcivic, So that extra half inch of radius (225/50 vs. 225/45) might rub? How about a 235/45? Think I can squeeze the extra 5mm on each side compared to yours?

I smell coolant... all the time

Are you smelling it inside or outside the car? If inside it could be a small leak from the heater core.

Need Wind Deflectors for a 2009

Are the ones you ordered in-channel? Please let me know how those work out for you.

    Diagnostic Port Location?

Wow, I was practically looking right at it (needed to cock my head about 10 degrees), and didn't see it. Thanks!

    Mazda5 real-world Mileage numbers

With a tall overdrive, it makes a huge difference if it's all highway. For example, my '93 Z28 averaged 28mpg at about 75mph with 99% highway driving. (The 1% was waiting t get through the Canadian borders.) It does seem the Ford-based engines are generally more thirsty than Hondas and GMs...

    Diagnostic Port Location?

I have a new scan gage and I would like to hook it up, but looking under the steering column I couldn't seem to find the connector. Thanks.

    Mazda 5 Turbo

Surprise!... not everyone else is just like you. Some of us would enjoy a little more passing power, and appreciate the handling of the 5. There are plenty of minivans if all you're looking for is cargo space for kids plus their stuff. Gee, you must be a lot of fun at parties too.(gtfo)

    downshifted past redline, oops.

If you caused any serious damage, it wouldn't take a compression check to notice it. I wouldn't try it again though.

    1970 Mercury Marquis

A 460 will go into whereever a 429 fits. They are also much easier to find than a 429, and the extra inches are fun!

Need Wind Deflectors for a 2009

Where can I find these? Prefer in-channel, if stickon is availble that would be preferred. Also prefer not buying through eBay.

Anyone with stock 17s and larger tires?

Will a 225/50R17 or 235/45R17 fit without rubbing?

Anyone go larger on stock rims?

Like I said, my preference is a little more height too. I'm just not sure how wide I can go.

Anyone go larger on stock rims?

I'm wondering if a 225/50R17 will fit in the stock wells without rubbing. I want to put more tire to the road. Yes I know they will be taller, but it's only about a 3% difference from stock (about 2.5mph diff at 80mph) so I'm not concerned about speedo error. The other option that might be...

Who bought their Mazda5 because of the Sliding Doors?

Handling, fuel economy, seating capacity, cargo space and sliding doors. But if Honda, GM and VW brought over their versions I would still stay with the 5 because it's the only one with those doors. Only thing missing is the turbo option and a 3rd seat in the second row.

    Mazda5 Privacy Glass?

Had mine ceramic tinted which is better than what a factory does because it cuts down more on heat (we live in the South). Probably cost me the same as privacy glass, and I still have a warranty for the work. Seems like a silly reason to pass up on the deal. Either of those options can be...

GM small seven-seat van (Chevy Orlando, merged)

Actually I never said I was comparing it a 5 (not sure where you read that into my sentence). I was saying the S-max is a long car for European standards. I've drove an S-max for a week. Like I said, it's a great car. I also had it parked to a Galaxy and it's a bit longer than even that...

GM small seven-seat van (Chevy Orlando, merged)

The S-Max is a great car, but amazingly long. For that reason I'm surprised it's such a hit in Europe where parking spaces are so small. A diesel would be great for fuel economy and also for emissions if run on biodiesel, but so far I can't see a payoff when you consider the extra cost up...

    Just saying hello!

Bought a 2009 and love it. The sliding doors are a huge plus with the kids. Thanks Mazda for bringing this car to the U.S.
